I am getting so depressed. I have been walking 40 miles a week, restricting calories, not eating much fat, doing pilates, moving lots - and I have in 3 months lost 1 KG. What am I doing wrong? I am old....you know over 45 - but is it really meant to be this hard? Can anyone help?

It's hard to know without knowing a bit more.

How much do you have to lose?
How much do you eat and drink a day?

Can you list what you have eaten for the last couple of days?

I need to lose around 2 stone - well I am 5ft 5ins and weigh 74KG. One posisble issue - I find it really hard to drink water through the day - instead drink green tea, coffee - skimmed milk, no sugar. Sometimes claim me Waitrose latte! Don't drink alcohol - well 2 glasses a week.

yesterday ate
one shredded wheat with blackberries and skimmed milk for breakfast
one Bounce Ball snack
tin of chick peas with some olive oil and vinegar for lunch
a plate of stir fry vegetables for dinner.

day before:
half an avocado for breakfast
Go Ahead biscuit snack
one cuppa soup as snack
a regular salad from Waitrose salad bar for lunch
one bowl of chilli con carne with a small baked potato.

Anything seem screamingly wrong there? We do eat dinner late - because I work till around 7pm. Could that make a difference?

Thanks for paying attention!

Sorry - had to go out and haven't managed to get back on here till now!

Looking at that I would say you are not eating enough. Certainly not enough protein.

Try using My Fitness Pal for a few days - you log your food and exercise. I don't use it much but I know lots of others have and fund it good. It will tell you how much carbs, protein etc you are eating I think.

thanks Cider - yep, I guess I should do this and really get a handle on what I am eating.
