What's the best way to loose weight with pcos?

So far I have read I need to do low gi or low carb. Anyone has any success with this?

Hello,

Sorry I haven't done either of those

I am counting calories and I have reduced my carbs, I only eat bread once a week or so. I haven't gone very low carb as I find it difficult as a vegetarian (though I have gone pescatarian to see if that works)

I know the low careers have a great deal of success

Good luck

I have PCOS (diagnosed 23 years ago) any diet works as long as I stick to it. But the easiest one I found was actually low fat. Felt much better and you end up low car bing as to eliminate fat as far as possible (without being unhhealthy) you cut out the foods that go with it. Eg not alot of pasta cos tomato based vegetarian sauces get a bit boring, sandwiches are a bit dry without spread etc.

I have PCOS. I maintain weight by avoiding pasta, bread etc... I Have it only about once a week and it's always whole meal. Lots of veg and fruit - careful though as I have a tendency to do water retention. I drink only water and a glass or two of wine very occasionally. Beer is a big no-no.
When out, I go for hte healthy option, eg grilled salmon with spinach, or grilled chicken salad, no dressing, just olive oil and vinegar or lemon. If we go for pizza, I'll have about two biggish slices and have a big salad to keep the GI low. I don't like to restrict myself, I want to be able to eat a bit of everything and this way works for me.
I exercise every day for a minimum of half an hour, mostly cardio.
I've been on yasminelle for 8 years and have put on quite some weight. I'm stopping it because my transaminases are a bit high, so hpefully I'll lose some weight (I usually do when I stop it for a while after taking it for a long time). If you have further questions just pm me.
