Any tips to help me get exercising?

Despite following an OK diet (avg 1800 cals per day) i find that i am not losing any weight. I know the answer is exercise but i am really unmotivated at the moment.

I leave for work at 6.40am and drive an hour to get there. I'm usually home by around 5.30pm. While i do often set off from work full of good intentions about hopping into my lycra- the monotony of driving in the dark leaves me pining for my bed!

By the time i've made tea etc, exercise is the last thing i want to do.

I used to be better at weekends but since moving in with my partner they now revolve around food shopping, socialising and cooking.

I know that i need to get a grip! How do you kick yourself into doing something when you REALLY don't feel like it?

Dieting/healthy life style changes is very very hard if you are not in the right mind set and don't feel like it.

Personally, I wouldn't say that 1800 cals a day will help you lose weight, sounds like far too much, you need to drop it down to about 1200 per and chuck in some exercise. Exercise is not essential at this stage - weight loss is 80% diet, 20% exercise and years ago I lost 4 stone without exercising at all (although I recommend you do exercise).

Once you do bite the bullet and start you will get in the mindset, especially once you see results but you do need to make a start even if you don't feel like it.

Good luck :)
