I've had almost no sugar now for a week. And I feel fantastic. the difference between cravings and real hunger is huge. Cravings made me feel weak, grumpy and that I had to eat A Lot and Right Now or I'd keel over and faint.

Real hunger , which I've noticed on this mainly veg diet I'm on, is quite a nice feeling - an empty feeling, like the one you get when you're excited about something, and it's easy to hold onto it for an hour or so without getting cross about not eating.

For a week I've lived almost entirely on veg with some fruit, lean protein like eggs and chicken, and small amounts of carbs if hungry. No alcohol. No sweets, cakes, biscuits, jam, sugary or processed cereals, dried fruit. Not much bread. It really does feel like super-healthy eating rather than being on a diet. Even sat in a restaurant today surrounded by family eating steak and fries and big puddings but genuinely didn't want any. Happy with salad. And REALLY looking forward to first target, which is not to be medically classified as overweight any more. Got half a stone to lose to reach that goal.
