Ooh I have only seen the third series of Sherlock so I have only recently 'got' the attraction with Benedict. I had a happy couple of hours last week finding him on YouTube
Your diet doesn't sound too different to mine but I can't get anyone here to eat anything other than white rice, bread or pasta. I find low calorie generally ok as long as I don't waste 500 cals on snacks. I mainly live off curries, casseroles, omelettes, salads, fajitas, jacket potatoes, small portions of pizza, soup and a piece of meat or fish with lots and lots of vegetables. I have cut down on carbs so fill myself up with vegetables like peppers, aubergines, mushrooms, courgettes. I often do different meals to dds and then dh gets the same as me but with extra carbs. When I first lost weight dh did too and he couldn't work out why!
I never found it easy to talk to anyone about my weight, so it wasn't just dh. I think it's because I had years of my mum, brother and dad telling me I was a fat teenager (I wasn't really) and I rebelled by eating more. Also I am not very good at talking about my weaknesses and it was definitely something I saw as a failing. When I started I think part of me thought I'd fail. I also didn't want dds to be body conscious and to grow up with a mum always on a diet so it seemed easier to not discuss it with dh in front of them. Some of dd1s friends (who are 5/6) already say they're fat or have fat legs or a fat tummy. Annoyingly, the one thing I get asked the most by my mum friends is how I lost the weight and I feel uncomfortable talking about it especially in front of dds.
I think dh noticed I'd lost weight after about 3 stone!
