I'm interested in how slimming world works. What are the basic principles and do you need to attend meetings or can this just be done at home. Thanks

I have lost 6 stone with SW. I love it. I definately needed to go to class to lose the weight, now I am at goal I only go evey couple of months. It works on the principle that you eat loads of fruit and veg. Pasta, pots, carbs all okay too as long as you eat plenty of veg/salad with it. It sounds complicated when you try and explain it but actually doing it soon becomes easy. Lean meat is fine as long as you do not cook using fat or oil so for example Spag bol or chill con carne made with extra lean mince and no oil (you can use frylight) is fine. Bread, cheese and goodies are restricted but you can have them too in moderation. Also you get 15 syns a day, all non free food has a syn value and you can have a bag of crisps or choc bar or a glass of wine or use them on cheese or butter, up to you. I love the flexability and freedom, I still eat lots of food and go out to dinner. It does not feel like a diet but a change in choices.

Go to a meeting and see what you think. Good Luck.
