What do you think the ideal weight is for someone of 5 foot 7?

I have lost a fair bit of weight and am now 9 stone 3 at 5'7. I'm wondering if I should lose another half stone or so. How do you know when you've lost enough? I don't feel particularly slim, although I obviously know I'm not overweight.

According to the NHS website for your height (which is the same as mine) a healthy weight is between 8 1/2 and 11 stone. So you could probably go another half stone but that would be veering towards being underweight. More to the point why do you want to lose weight? What's your reason? Smile

I always revert back to this page
www.cockeyed.com/photos/bodies/heightweight.html
look yourself up, and the picture on either side and see where you want to be.

I'm currently aiming at BMI 20
others on the 5:2 threads would look crap if they were that thin
others would look crap if they were that fat

Kate Moss has a BMI around 18 - can you imagine her at 22.5!!!!

Hi, I think your weight sounds fine. I'm 5'6 and weigh around 9st. I tend to try to keep in a happy zone, no more than 9st 4 and not under 8st 12. It's about how you look and feel, rather than what the scales say. I'm a few pounds heavier than this time last year, but look better because I have been a lot more exercise over the last few months.

PS Well done on the weight loss.

I got told to be careful around 10 stone, as I was getting to skinny, but I've always carried a bit more weight than a lot of people my height.

Way to heavy now at 12 stone, and doing 5:2 to try and get back to pre baby toddler weight.

Look in the mirror and be realistic, your a healthy weight now.

what is 8 stone 14 fn kilos and how do I find this out? I am 5ive foot eight and think I need to put on a few pounds. I think that my ideal weight is 60 kg but my scales only do pounds. (excuse hijack)

Thanks all, I feel good at this weight and still think I could stand to lose a little more.

I'm 12 stone which means half a stone still needs to come off; too much eating last winter! At 11 stone I would be slim but I like my food too much for that, however may get nearer that in the summer when I get my cycle.

never dieted, just need to do intermittent fasting - 3 times a day, between meals.

I don't think it is Kate Moss's food intake that keeps her that scrawny. Allegedly.

dontcallmehon · 03/12/2012 22:23

I quite fancy trying to get to about 8 stone 6, which would be the very bottom of my healthy weight range - just to see if I can and to see what it looks like. I think I suit being thinner. Not sure if it is a good idea though, assuming it's even possible.

You don't fast between your meals you fast a set period of 12 18 20 hours
