former low carber fallen off the wagon...

went on holiday to Scotland for nearly 3 weeks and have totally fallen off the low carb wagon. I did try when I was up there but scones, slice sausage, scones, homemade cake and scones and lots of alcohol got me!

Since coming home over a week ago, I have cut down hugely on the amount of carbs, weighed myself when we got back and I have put on 7lbs!

I need help/encouragement/ links to new threads to get me back on the low carb wagon. Kids go back to school on Thursday so it is all systems go from then. Routine starts properly, exercise classes are back on etc etc.

Help me please. I was doing really well, nearly lost 3 stone, I do not want carb creep...

I used to do Atkins plan, but to be honest, whilst I lost weight on it, I felt rather deprived...
Have you tried something like Slimming World...ed days are pretty low carb as such (i.e. no Pasta&Potatoes) but lots of encouragement to have pretty much all fruit and veg....
Anyway...whatever you decide...once your mind is set to it it should not be a problem

Hi, I have just started low carb today. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I can't seem to calorie count, I just starve myself for a week then cave and have a KFC or something stupid, then I just carry on eating crap!
You've lost three stone?! That's incredible! How much more do you want to lose? Just the 7lbs you've put back on?

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 03/09/2012 09:32

thats the thing, I didnt feel deprived at all.

Jax, why not just come back to the bootcamp threads? I remember you from there! If it helps at all, Scitkand has just had the sane effect on me - a long weekend in Glasgow and I seem to be 4lbs up! Grin

teaandthorazine · 03/09/2012 11:19

That should of course read Scotland...

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 03/09/2012 12:56

Just going to get this week out the way and then I will be back with renewed vigour.

ME!!

hello! i lost around 9lbs in July doing low carb. i then got bored and started eating again in August (various other lovely excuses too) and seem to have put around 5lbs back on! so its back to low carbing today.

is there a specific thread for september starters?

i have around a stone to shift but would be happy with half a stone.

FrillyMilly · 03/09/2012 14:10

I'm on day two of low carbing. Trying to shift the last stone of baby weight. DH has been low carbing since March and has lost nearly 4 stone. I had managed to shift 4lbs the week before last but we went away last week and I put it back on, DH put 6lbs back on. Really feeling a sugar slump today.

Zoelda · 03/09/2012 14:12

yup, mines the last bit of baby weight too. i have put on 5 stone with each of my two bastard pregnancies. five stone.

lost it pretty easily the first time and an extra half stone so was around 10 stone when got preggo with number 2. this time its taken longer. (baby is 9 months). im 11stone and would love to be anywhere between 10 and 10.7

FrillyMilly · 03/09/2012 14:22

With my first the weight practically fell off. Now DC2 is 7.5 months. I'm 5ft 3 and weigh 10.4. I'd like to be 9.4 as that's what I was pre DC. I have loads of clothes but resort to wearing the same two pairs of jeans because they are the ones that fit. I've started cycling as well so hoping that will help.

Zoelda · 03/09/2012 14:36

how do you get out and about cycling? evening?

FrillyMilly · 03/09/2012 14:42

Yeah I do it evening or weekend when DH is home. Even if I just do 15 minutes I think at least it's something. Then at the weekends I aiming to do a longer ride. DH is cycling too do alternating with him and then when DS is a bit older we are going to get a trailer so yet can come with us on some rides. I thought about Zumba but with two children's erratic sleeping I didn't want to commit to an hour a week at a set time. At least cycling I can decided when and for how long.
