Cheating on the Dukan Diet

Hi I have been on the Dukan Diet for a year now, and am too afraid to introduce bread/potatoes into my diet. However today I had a bad day, I bought a tub of Gu Millionaires FlapJacks and I have eaten 3/4 of the tub! This day started off with my low fat Greek yogurt and oatbran. Lots of water, cup of coffee, salad leaves for lunch, and then fruit (as its Sunday) and then I saw the Gu's. I am ashamed! I am afraid to stand on the scales in the morning.

Has anyone else had bad moments like that? Tomorrow is a prawn and steak day, nothing else, apart from oat bran and a cup of coffee.

Sorry to go on, I am just feeling enormously guilty. I may as well finish the day off with a glass of wine. It's all very bad.

I am not really sure what phase I am in, I have protein and salad or veg most days, but no carbs, I have wine in the evenings, and my weight moves about a couple of lbs. I try to have a PP day, but usually I manage a glass of wine before bed on that day to reward myself.

(NO willpower).

you have done so well to keep it up for a year! How much have you lost in total ? I think you are being very hard on yourself.focus on how well you ve done during the rest oe the day .maybe a diet which allows you an occasional treat would make you feel better ?

Thanks postolympic, I have lost over 1 st. Am now a size 10. Feel good. As expected I am 3lbs heavier than I would like to be. So on it with great gusto today, pure protein only will shift those pesty little pounds.

That must be a typo - 1st after being good for a year? No wonder you had needed flapjacks!

Loopy4got · 20/08/2012 18:46

no typo :( 16lbs in total! in a year, I was delighted, but now feel deflated. It was my best effort. I know I suppose it isnt much to show, but I was delighted I had kept the weight off and keep on going and started to gradually introduce the things I liked again, like a glass of wine (or two) cheese, but no bread nor pasta. Hence the shame and worry of most of the tub of chocolate toffee flapjacks from Gu. I ate the rest today, after reading that :( 1st isnt a lot to lose in a year, but I was chuffed with my slow and steady pace.

Oh well!

Tomorrow, I am back on track!

Sorry Loopy, didn't mean to belittle your achievement - you obviously don't need to lose any more as you're only a size 10 anyhow and it's great that you've been keeping the weight off. Am just used to people's stories of big losses and am still in the position of thinking you'd only follow a restrictive diet if you had lots to lose. Haven't started thinking like a slim person yet! But well done and don't be too hard on yourself!

It's ok, everyone bursts out laughing when I say yes lost 1 st on the Dukan it works for me! I think it was 1st 2 lbs, but those 2lbs come and go so I no longer count them in the BIG total! I cant give up chocolate or wine in the evenings, that is more of a habit I have to break so will work on that one next. Thanks for your kind words
