Hello, Im doing weight watchers but only lost 1lb the first week! I know Im doing it correctly so it seems so unfair.

I've done it before and lost 3lb the first week and 1-2 each week after.

Im not due on. Im not exercising loads but i wasn't last time i did it either and still made a good loss then. Will start exercising again when the schools starts again.

Im eating much healthier, less stodge, less chocolate and cakes, and much less snacking. For the difference in my diet 1lb doesn't seem right.

Bit annoyed.

Hi, I did the old ww diet in the past and lost weight. I recently did the new one and put on three pounds! I think with all the free food I was taking in far too many calories for all that it was healthier stuff.

When I looked at the calories I was having about 1,500 a day - not a lot but I'm only short and need to go down to about 1000 a day to lose a pound a week.

I've since been following the ww diet in terms of the sort of food I'm eating as I do think it's a healthy plan, but using MFP to keep an eye on the calories.

What's mfp?

myfitnesspal, it's a free online calorie counter app where you can log everything you eat, exercise you do, etc

2kidsintow · 18/08/2012 19:20

I used to drop weight easily with the old WW system. Lost 3-5lb first week, then 1-2lb weekly. I could fit all my food choices into th epoints relatively easily.

On the new plan I lost half of that each week, if that, and found that lots of my favourite meals are not feasible within the new ppts.

Most of all, I got fed up with having to work out all the ppts, and I used to like using my calculator to do that, but now it is too complicated!

I'm using my fitness pal too and really liking it. It is free, and yes - there are no meetings. However, I'm finding that to be a good thing. No strict weekly weigh in means I'm not tempted to have a weekly 'treat' that I would have otherwise had. I'm also taking the much longer view and if I have a bad day, then I just start again without worrying that I've blown it for that week.

I do miss the camaraderie of meetings though.

PooPooOnMars · 18/08/2012 22:05

Hmm might have to get that app!

Well have looked for the app but can't find it! Does anyone know if its available on android?

Its is, I have it.

Its great.

I did ww and lost but not enough. Its the weekly points that were stopping me.

I have lost 10lbs with mfp in 5 weeks.

If you are exercising could it be your muscle increase?

PooPooOnMars · 18/08/2012 23:43

Yeah i stopped eating the weekly ones and reduced my daily by 3 but still only lost 1lb!

Im not exercising at the moment, well apart from chasing the lovely dcs around because i can't whilst they are still off school.

Not sure why i can't find the app then. Is it in the free section?

BonkeyMollocks · 18/08/2012 23:47

Yes its free :)

I find it much better.

You can see the values better in foods. How bad some things are for you

I'm on a support thread if you want to join us although I'm avoiding a atd at the mo Blush Very friendly bunch. Its the Motivational Monday one! :)

PooPooOnMars · 19/08/2012 00:03

Thank you! Smile will have a look tomorrow. Have just found the app and its telling me that its going to take until the 22nd of September to lose the first 4lbs! Probably because i can't fit in exercise right now Sad

BonkeyMollocks · 19/08/2012 00:06

Ignore that!

It told me it would take ages to lose 5lbs, took 2 weeks!

Just stop fretting so much and stick woth it and it will come off :)

I'm had my third weigh in on Thursday. Week one - gain .5 lb. Week two - gain 1lb. Week three - lost 2.5lb. The first week I didn't do it properly. Second week I did, but the weight loss didn't show until my third weigh in.

I know that it wasn't good food in the week leading up to the third weigh in as I had chippy chips x 3 and food from a very lovely restaurant for my wedding anniversary!

It's so variable. Now I've got two weeks to try and make up for the bad week I just had and then, make progress the following week. Can't make weigh in this week, hence in 2 weeks.

I'm blogging about it at www.cambridgemummy.co.uk under the innovative subject title of "fat fighters" Grin

Here's to us birds who don't have a 6lb loss in the first week of ww!! Smile

PooPooOnMars · 19/08/2012 19:53

Ok, am doing my fitness pal but it won't let me enter exercise i have done. It comes up and says i need to put in the amount of minutes but won't allow me to do it. Does anyone know why?

I have the same problem, marking my place so I can come back & read! :)

PooPooOnMars · 19/08/2012 20:03

I went to meetings originally and was doing the old way and had a good loss, 3 then 2 etc. Sometimes less. Then found out i was doing it wrong and not eating enough! I was counting all the fat instead of just the saturated fat.

Then went onto pp and lost nothing on 29 and some weeks had gains. Then stopped doing it.

Tried again some time later on 29 again and lost nothing. So this time i reduced it to 26 and that's when i only lost 1lb.

Have given up with it now as due to being instructed wrongly the first time and i suspect being told 29 was wrong as well, i have lost faith in it.

I did reach goal but because i haven't been for ages i would have to pay again which i would rather avoid.

Thanks for your reply Smile
