And can't get back on track just eating and drinking loads. So depressing :((

I had the same problem, I think it's very common to gain weight during Christmas and Easter. Since then I was keeping saying to myself, can't be bothered today, will start tomorrow. I was saying it till I think April or May but I decided I should stop saying tomorrow and start right away. Hope you find something inspiring and feel happier. Wishing you good luck Stoney.

I'm the same kinda, I've gained a stone in the last year (after losing it for my wedding) and I'm 3 stone overweight. I just haven't had the 'click' yet that makes me really motivated but I've decided from Monday I'm going to take charge anyway. Hopefully once I start the motivation will kick in.

I have the Shred DVD in my wardrobe with the wrapping still on for months now and have a rowing machine in the spare room (arms are a big problem area) that I've used maybe 3 times.

But it's so easy to find excuses, for example, we currently have builders in building walls round the house and I'm NOT doing Shred with them looking in the front window at me but there are a lot of hours in the day when they're not here (actually there are a lot of days when they're not here full stop cause of the weather)

So anyway, I'm starting on Monday, not with huge amounts of motivation, but with a spence of - just get started.

helga - why are you waiting till monday?? why not start today?!

cybbo · 12/07/2012 16:48

Go out for a really fast walk and when you come back in have a huge glass of water

Don't think of it in terms of weight loss, think of it as being kind to yourself

Daisy - I always have a last blow out weekend before starting. I don't eat everything in sight but I treat myself to a few of my favourite things that become VERY occasional treats when watching what I eat. Like wine and Chinese.

Hi Helga - I lost three stone + a few years ago after carrying my pregnancy gain for 7 years. I tried and failed many times and one of the key things for me succeeding in the end was changing my mindset away from last blow out/start tomorrow to every decision counts. Even if you have a breakdown or a treat, you can make up for it by eating more healthily for the rest of the day (or skipping a meal - shock horror). The biggest problem I had was thinking, well I've blown out today so I might was well go mad and start again tomorrow. Starting again with the next choice (treat, meal, booze) made a huge difference for me.

I am good about not letting one 'bad' meal throw me off track when I'm in the swing of things. It's just at the moment my motivation is so low I just can't contemplate starting NOW. I need a few days to get my head sorted a little so I'm prepared to make healthy choices.

Plus I do the shopping for the week tomorrow so I can get healthy options.

cybbo · 12/07/2012 19:38

I don't understand the last blow out thing either

Just start!

Caerlaverock · 12/07/2012 19:41

Low carb. And accept it takes time.

Overtiredmum · 12/07/2012 19:54

And definitely start the Shred! I have lost nearly 3 stone this year but two weeks ago I started the No More Trouble Zones and in the last two weeks have gone down nearly another dress size!!

Stoney666 · 12/07/2012 22:40

Have just ordered the shred DVD :)
