18 weeks weight loss?

nearlyfinisheduni · 19/06/2012 18:39

how much weight could I expect to lose in 18 weeks? I am going on holiday and desperately need to lose 4 stone. I'm not expecting to lose all of it in this time but would like to make a dent in it!

You could lose 3 of that quite easily 42 pounds is only just over 2 pounds a week (say 2.5 to be sure)

I get married in about 20 weeks. Fancy a diet buddy? :)

nearlyfinisheduni · 19/06/2012 19:01

I thought that but just wanted to check i was being realistic! yes a diet buddy would be great Smile how much do you have to lose?

about 5 stone Erm 42 pounds would take me down to a size 16 (maybe a little bit over) so I'm looking at the same sort of amount really. I'd be happy in a wedding dress at that size and tbh any thinner doesn't feel like me I feel 'right' at a 16. I don't know if that makes sense?!

I planning on using slimfast as it easy for me and I don't have to count calories for breakfast and lunch and I know it works for me when I can stick to it

How are you planning to do it?

mmmmmchocolate · 19/06/2012 19:22

Ps will weigh in tomorrow morning properly :)

nearlyfinisheduni · 19/06/2012 19:29

hi just healthy eating and hopefully exercise, i used to be slim and very healthy and life and uni stresses led me to comfort eat! starting at 13 stone 2lbs, the heaviest i have ever been Blush

Yes I'm hoping to do exercise too, I'm taking up aquafit and then looking at a class to do, maybe a spin class? And I take DD swimming once a week. I was hoping to get out on my bike once the DDs are in bed by the weather has stopped all of that...

13.2 would be my overall goal weight! Lol! I'm starting at about 18. *disclaimer I am actually really tall fat but really tall Grin

mmmmmchocolate · 19/06/2012 19:42

Have you found a way to tackle comfort eating? My problem is snacking when the DDs are in bed and I just NEED something sweet....

nearlyfinisheduni · 19/06/2012 19:50

i'm thinking bike rides, waliking and 30 day shred. How tall are you? i'm 5' 5'' No not yet, i'm fine all day usually and like you say, need something sweet. It would be ok if it was a once a week thing and not a daily thing! Am thinking of cutting out sweet, sugary things altogether for a while to try and crack the craving!

Can make a massive dent in 18 weeks if very focused - 3 pounds a week for first few weeks and then 2 pounds a week thereafter. So 3 x 4 + 2 x 14 = 40 pounds so around 3 stone.

mmmmmchocolate · 19/06/2012 22:02

I'm 7ft 6 Grin no am just over 5.10 so 12 stone would be my healthy weight but that's a long way away. I'm just aim

mmmmmchocolate · 19/06/2012 22:05

*aiming for about 15 for now.

I find that having sugar free jelly or a low fat hot choc sometimes helped on a night but not for the nights I just needed to eat a bar of dairy milk you might have the right idea to cut it out completely though. I recently gave up diet coke and after the week of headaches, exhaustion and sickyness I felt so much better. It's the same as any vice I guess- cut it out!!

mmmmmchocolate · 20/06/2012 08:47

Ok so 18.3. Aiming for 15ish in 20 weeks. Bring it on!!

Windandsand · 22/06/2012 10:34

Hi ladies can I join you? I have to lose weight- I have never been so big and I feel and look dreadful. Have just bought a pair of size 14 jeans and summer last year was size 8-10 , which I have been all my life except when pregnant! Have decided to give up alcohol and start to exercise aerobically plus swimming. Will weigh myself later. Have about 2 stone to lose and keep off. I love cheese it's my downfall:(

mmmmmchocolate · 22/06/2012 11:56

Hi windandsand you have made some good goals there good luck! I feel your cheese pain, I used to love it but I stopped eating it for years and now I only have it for special occasions.

I had a good day yesterday probably because I was so busy! But I did go out for a meal last night and had a few chips. Today I had my weekly breakfast out but I chose the healthy option of scrambled eggs, wheat toast, toms, mushrooms and lean bacon which is only 450 calories. I'm sleep deprived today so not even peckish for lunch right now.

Windandsand · 22/06/2012 13:29

Just weighed myself and am 10 stone 7. This will be my first day without a glass of wine after the kids have gone to bed for months! Have just been running on the treadmill and swimming. Have started mfp as well. Had toast and honey for breakfast which has so many calories I had no idea. Am so hungry:(
I am quite short too so look really dumpy. Am going to get the shred DVD and start Zumba at night in DVD. Dh works late so I can't rely on him to get home on time. Do you go home workouts?

nearlyfinisheduni · 24/06/2012 17:32

hi how's everyone doing? I have lost 2lbs this week and am starting to feel 'thinner' even if i dont look it yet! i still need to cut out the chocolate etc but think i havent made too bad a start!
