How do you know when you've lost enough weight?

I'm down to 9st 7 and I'm 5'7". I still have a big handful of tummy fat even though my waist is now 26", the fat is in that area below the natural waist that curves out (on me). Boobs are down to a C cup from an F even though I've only lost just over a stone - obviously a barometer of my weight. If I lose more I'll have no boobs left. Where do you stop? I also still have fat inner thighs that touch.

I'm the same height as you and my target is 9st7 am most Envy but well done to you! (I'm around 10st now so still another 1/2st to lose). Is it a weight you are comfortable with other than the thighs and tummy? My target is my pre-dc weight so I know I would stop around there or struggle to lose more even if I wanted to. How did you lose the weight? Maybe you could 'just' work on exercising to tone up? (ignore me if you already do lots). You might find that adds a bit of weight back from more muscle. I have been exercising quite a bit so the thighs are definitely a bit more toned but the tummy is still there - boo!

It's a. Interesting question. I'm 5ft 8 and currently weigh 9 st 12, my target is 9st 7 because that was the weight I was when I last felt skinny - I was a size 10. My thighs are my problem area and probably the reason why I will continue down the scale to 9st 7. Apparently you don't loss fat off you stubborn areas till your body fat is quite low - I will stop if the weight loss starts to show on my face - so far it hasn't.

Thanks for replying. I feel nearly comfortable at this weight, I know I'm going to start looking a lot less womanly if I carry on but yes, I'm still not happy with particular areas. When I look at pictures of myself at around the 9st mark I still have relatively large thighs and no boobs and look more out of proportion than I do at the moment iyswim. I guess one just can't change the inherited body shape that one has. I have very muscly legs from being a dancer earlier in life so that is another factor, they are not necessarily the legs that everyone would want!

All I can say about how I lost it is, the first 9lbs-ish was due to a big change in my eating pattern that I am maintaining. I am not 'low-carbing' or following any specific plan but being conscious about how many potatoes are on the plate/how much pasta. Sometimes I will eat e.g. a massive tuna salad with eggs and lots of dressing - so, no carbs, but a meal I hugely enjoy. I eat a huge bowl of porridge for breakfast. I don't eat sugar/soft drinks or fruit juice/cakes/bread/biscuits/crisps/confectionery etc. I don't miss any of it though I will occasionally have something sweet if I'm eating out.

The rest of my weight loss is down to unrequited love, surely the best weight-loss method known to humankind? Can't recommend it though.

For me it was when the weight loss slowed down to around 0.5lb a week or less, like my body was saying it was enough. Thighs still wobbly until body fat low (around 18%) - BMI is 20.5.

I am 5 4 and 8 10 but am well toned. I am a size 8 apart from in tiny designer shops. Boobs now 30C not much left was 36DD at start. Thighs don't touch any more (for first time ever).

I'm the same weight as you but am only 5ft 2. I don't think I've lost enough and am going to get to 9st and see how I feel, but I've had 'acquaintances' tell me not to lose any more!

It is a toughie. I am now 8 stone 11 and 5 foot 4 inch. My pre baby weight was four pounds lighter. But I think I may maintain now even though my cellulite is not banished. I am starting to loose more off my boobs than I would like. I have always been a pear shape and don't want to get any more out of proportion.
I have lost the half stone I needed to through exercise and it has made a massive difference to my bum and thighs so my inner thighs no longer meet and my bum looks much perter. I am a Jillian Michaels devotee my tummy is also better but having three kids means I will never get it back to how it was!

happypiglet After nearly a year of JM my stomach is flatter and more toned than before my 3 DC!!!! I am also 5 4 and 8 10 but am now well toned. Keep the weight the same but increase toning.

Jillian Michaels RULES! I love her comments on Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism, "This is not your mother's workout".

Thanks for your comments, I think I will lose a little more and see where I am. So much is down to frame size, I know some people at my height and weight would be just fine but I've always been a small frame so it is easy to understand why I've still got a lot of flesh on me. I was happily 8st 7lbs for years when I was a teen and early twenties. While I've been carrying extra weight around I've found it difficult to feel really connected to my body and and to know when everything is 'right'. So, part of this journey is about getting back in touch with my body really and not abusing it with fad diets, overeating and neglect. Just hoping that I will know when to stop.

Ohh I'd love my norks to shrink but they have been almost as stubborn as my thighs...but they are easier to dress most of the time.
