How much does your weight fluctuate over 24 hours?

I've finally replaced our ancient bathroom scales with a new electronic set.

Last night I weighed 10 stone 8.8 lbs.
This morning I weighed 10 stone 3 lbs.
Tonight I weigh 10 stone 6.8 lbs.
Confused
I was in the same clothes in the same place each time.

Is this normal or should I take the scales back? I know you usually weigh less first thing in the morning, but 5 lbs less???
Btw, I don't intend to weigh myself constantly each day, but I did want to try out my new toy Grin

I once heard that during the day you can eat around 4lbs of food and drink so your weight can fluctuate a lot whilst you digest and convert the food into energy.

Thanks Debs75. 4lbs of food sounds a lot. As does converting all of that into energy overnight!

I'm intrigued really by how my weight varies during the day. I guess it does underline the general rule that if you are tracking your weight you need to way yourself at the same time of day every time - otherwise you're all over the shop Grin
