I like Davina's Power of Three - although I haven't touched it for months . It's great because you can do the lot if you want to do a proper long workout or you can break it up if you want to concentrate on a particular area or if you don't have much time.

Hard work but good fun and if you're anything like me it will provide amusement for all the family

shellybelly · 18/01/2006 13:57

my stomach is my main concern, I have what i call a fuller figure dh loves it! but i want to tone up without all the dieting lark, like my M&S deserts too much did the slimming world diet but once you stop you put it back on.

Definitely want a fun one and Davina is really funny, have seen a belly dancing one not sure if its for me tho!

davinas new one
jesus my quads are still throbbing

tangerinecath · 18/01/2006 14:12

My figure's on the full side too which is why I'm on the Lardy Club thread!

I did SW too and lost 2.5 stone but it all went back on, along with some more for good measure, when I was pg with dd.

I may now be inspired to dig Davina out and give it another go. Only when there's no-one around though to watch me do the star jumps my boobs are big and dangly these days and it's not pretty!

shellybelly · 18/01/2006 14:17

thats the best bit about having a fuller figure 3 years ago I was size 8 B cup, am now size 12 DD cup!!! and i do enjoy having curves but want that tum down well i may try davina then, is it very hard???

ps did anyone watch the programme on the top 10 dvd workouts??? beverley callard came top! davina was in there tho

i read a huge article about these dvds - and they recommended Charlie Brookes one way above the others

ive ordered it from amazon so ill let you know

tangerinecath · 18/01/2006 14:23

You can make Davina as difficult as you want, there are hard and easy versions of each exercise so you can choose which suits you.

I heard the Charlie Brooks one was good too, nailpolish, and she looks fab now

beverley callard omg not sure I'd have considered a video with her in but then I always think of her as Liz McDonald and I'm sure she's not actually like that in RL

Piffle · 18/01/2006 14:29

mosschops I'm at that stage now, 2 days on and cannot sit down without lowering myself with my hands.
So sore....
Am doing it again tomorrow though.

i bought the geri yoga couple of year ago, apparently tho there was no way she could have gotten as skinny as she was just on yoga, re beverly callard, don't really like liz mc character so not sure if it would put me off (she is a proper trained fitness instructor tho)

I've got the Beverley Callard one (bought years ago). It is good, a bit boring but IMO there is nothing dodgy in it, you would be hard pushed to injure yourself doing it as she teaches well. However nothing beats getting to a real life class and giving it a go.

pumpkin7 · 18/01/2006 15:59

I like the yogalates dvds, they are easy to do but at the end you can feel you have done something, also it doesnt involve jumping around and loud music so its ideal if u want to do it when the kids are in bed.
I also have a Tae Bo one which is very energetic so I use that on days when im feeling fit (not very often lately)

Milliways · 18/01/2006 16:18

Still got lots cheap in Aldi (£4.99, maybe £3.99) including a double Davina set of her old ones.

Piffle · 18/01/2006 17:23

halo alert, this thread, made me get off my very sore butt and pop the cardio box on, I did it, went easy on the stretches and am so pleased, I really really enjoyed that workout!
Is it ok to buy one or two dvds and mix the workouts a bit?
Like the look of Charlie Brooks one as well.

shellybelly · 18/01/2006 18:32

well done you don't see why not, good bit of variety i say (warm and cool down at the end tho)
mmm these are my shortlists
angela griffiths dance mix
davina mcCall
belly dancing (aussie style)
her with the red hair (biance from E/enders)
and that charlie brooks one has caught my eye
basically its the ones where they have had children themselves

The Nell McAndrew she brought out last year really is fab! Its nearly as good as doing a circuits class, but in the privacy of our own home

Boy, that girl can lunge!

andyrobo237 · 23/01/2006 12:56

Another one for davina here - got the latest one (shhh off Ebay) and it is great but hard work!
