Help: why haven't I lost a single once

I am really hoping someone can help me. I have cut out all junk, been eating well and shredding 3 times a week and haven't lost a bean. I am 9.5 stones and 5ft so would like to loose a stone. I thought I would be well on my way by now!

Here is a run down of the kind if things I eat:
Breakfast- porridge, bran flakes or fresh fruit and veg juice/smoothie
Lunch - homemade soup, omelette, poached eggs on a single slice of wholemeal toast, a wrap with salad and tuna,
Dinner - chicken or fish with salad, veggie curry with brown rice

I snack on dried fruit and nuts or oat cakes twice a day. I have cut out alcohol and only have two cups if tea a day.

The lack of results is enough to send me heading for the biscuit tin!

I probably don't drink enough water and I don't get enough sleep (dd2 being a pain in the arse).

Can anyone help?

two falls when istarted.my new diet and fitness (shred) regime this time last year I measured myself AND weighed myself. My measurements dropped immediately (like yours) the weight took a little longer to start moving.

Don't panic!

You are making great changes to your body. You have shifted fat and grown calorie burning muscles - hurrah. This is great news. Try to ignore the scales and enjoy your new SMALLER body. You need to reset your gyros bait about what success really is. I bet you actually want to be smaller really. Which is what you have achieved already. Keep going

Bait = about

Here you go Twofalls food for thought for you

I definitely second the 2/3 weeks delay. I a, 5'6 and about 10 and a half stones. I have dieted and exercised many times over tha last few years, and never lose weight the first couple of weeks and often give up. I think when you are borderline on the bmi instead of load over, the weight does come off really slowly anyway.
I always think any loss is good, even if it's only 1 pound in a fortnight!

Thanks for the link, very interesting.

I sort of fell off the wagon over the weekend but am back on it again today. I think you are right goodtimes, when you haven't got loads to loose it actually comes off slowly.

anyway, I am not going to weigh myself for a week and bear in mind what you said jellibelli.

I need to take my own medicine as I can't resist my daily weigh in Hmm. But I do monitor the cm s too. I am fascinated by fat loss. At the moment it is melting from below my ribs. Progress but frustratingly slow. I just have to keep going I guess.

Good luck

Hello everyone. So i still haven't lost any weight and the inches haven't shifted in the last 10 days either. I have been monitoring my calories and they are about 1200 and have been doing the Jason Vale juicing programme for the last 2 days (I lost 10lbs in 2 weeks on the juicing/turbo charge plan after dd1). Have exercised about 3 times a week but am fairly active anyway.

Do I need to got to the doctor to get my thyroid checked or something? Its been nearly a month now. Grrrr.

I had this problem last summer. Cut calories and fat right down..walked for miles every day and saw NO results!!...BUT, what worked for me and seems to be the only way I can now lose weight is going very low carb!..The weight fell off!

I don't know how your carbs are now but my low cal diet still was quite carb heavy so cutting out carbs really worked.

Have a look at the dukan diet.

BettyBedlam · 08/02/2012 12:24

Sallyanne - did your weight come back on when you started eating carbs again though?
