Weighing every day - anyone else noticed this pattern?

I'm losing weight gradually (3 lots of baby-weight gains to go...) I seem to be losing about a pound or two every week or two. I weigh myself every morning (I know people say you shouldn't do it daily, but I like to), and I've noticed a pattern to the weight loss.

I stay at the same weight (e.g. 10 stone 2lbs) for a week or so, then a slight drop (wavering down to 10 stone 1lb) and then next day a 2lb gain (up to to 10 stone 4 lbs) and then next day a drop (down to 10 stone 1lb).

Then another week or so at that weight before the next drop-gain-bigger drop cycle.

Doesn't bother me, since my weight is consistently going down (in a slow, gentle way), but just thought it was interesting. I wondered if somehow when fat cells start breaking down (or whatever they do), they convert into a heavier format before they get excreted out.

Or perhaps I just have too much time on my hands and should go and eat a mince pie instead.

Obviously just me then. I am now eating the mince pie...

Not just you, I've found similar. I attribute it to water retention, day 18/19 yo day 26 I stay the same or put on a lb, then lose 2lbs all of a sudden day 5/6, then stay the same until day 18/19 again.

I do weigh everyday at the same time, more about the inc/dec than taking note of it. I find this helps with the the odd large increase as it shows it's transient.

Ooh, not just me then! It's not connected to my period as I'm not having any (breastfeeding) but yes, could be water retention anyway, I suppose - hadn't thought of that.

I imagine you're right Stewie, that's why they say not to weigh more often. I like doing it though, it's part of my routine now, it's more just interesting to see what's happening rather than anything else.

I definitely have 2 times per month where I put on 2/3 1lbs for no reason, one is pre-menstrual, and one is when i seem to be ovulating, and bloat a bit. I'm sure its water retention.

And today the temptation is chocolate roulade. Got it in for lunch with in-laws, and the leftovers are still sitting in the fridge...
