Is there a thread for 'Dukan virgins'?

Hi

I'm planning on starting the Dukan Diet on Monday and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction of a thread where I can find advice and support.

Alternatively if anyone else is about to start or just started feel free to join me on here Smile.

Yep headaches for me too though I am prone to the odd migraine.

I've decided to do one more day of Attack (today) as I didn't lose any weight this morning.

Will be giving myself a treat of salad & veg tomorrow! Hmm

Forever thanks for the info. I'd bought Onken fat free plain yoghurt & thought that would be ok.

In terms of the canned tomatoes I was just trying to think of more exciting meals I could make on the PV days e.g. a curry with chicken, chopped tomatoes, other fresh veg, herbs/spices & plain yoghurt.

Hello all
I'm on day 4 - I did 2 days of attack and had some veggies yesterday (lovely!) protein only today.
I'm quite enjoying the galettes things but only with the balsamic dressing he has on the top. I've just had it for lunch with lots of dressing and smoked salmon on top and it was very nice.

I had 2 glasses of wine last night - I'm not going to not drink for 8 weeks so I've decided to allow myself a couple of glasses on veggie days if I want some. Given I've massively reduced my calorie intake by cutting out carbs and sugar I know I'll lose weight anyway. We'll see how it goes - I may be back with my tail between my legs next week :)

RE headaches, I found they went if I drank water

I'm not really hungry very much and I've plenty of energy - in Jan I did a detox (allowed rice and potatoes) and felt dreadful on day 4 so it is a very pleasant surprise that i feel so good.

I'm also sleeping very well - I suspect due to the absence of sugar and perhaps carbs, as I didn't sleep this well in jan on the detox.

I'm planning veal rogan josh for tea tomorrow - can't wait!!

ipredicttrouble · 08/09/2011 20:33

All sounds good Inti, you sound really positive.

Day 4 of Attack complete, really hoping that I've lost again tomorrow just to help keep the motivation going. I'm sure I will allow myself the odd glass of wine here & there too Smile.

Have you got a recipe for your Rogan Josh sauce? I quite fancy that with chicken.

I'm looking forward to some veggies tomorrow. Think I will have a stir fry for dinner with chicken, lots of different veg & lots of spices. Hoping that I won't miss the rice & noodles too much!

Sorry yes meant flavoured yoghurt. The natural ones are ok.

Greek yoghurts are best as they are naturally lower in carbs.

I just buy vanilla essense and stir in, can always add some sweetner if you really need it.

ipredicttrouble · 08/09/2011 21:18

Thanks forever. Can I just check re meat? Are all meats allowed? E.g. Bacon? Or am I really pushing my luck here?! Smile

Hi Ipt (how do you do that clever insert someone's name?!)
no bacon
You can have lean beef poultry and veal. Pork and lamb are not allowed..sorry!
Re menu my husband cooks it. If it is nice I will share
X

ipredicttrouble · 09/09/2011 11:21

Thanks Inti. You just put * around the name & it makes it bold.

Thanks for the info re the meat.

So I've done 4 days of Attack and lost 5 pounds. Pretty pleased but want to get to the 1/2 stone mark soon. I'm so impatient! Going to go for a walk this aft & then hopefully a run tomorrow morning so that should help.

Have you ever done Atkins before? Just wondering as a friend of mine and I were discussing which we think is more strict. At the moment Dukan seems way more harsh to me.

On my first day of attack and feeling a little dizzy so think I need to be eating and drinking more.

Off to stick some oat bran in my yogurt and see if that helps.

Well done Ipredicttrouble for your loss, good luck with the walk and run.

foreverondiet · 09/09/2011 15:17

Lean meat only, but if you've had a very lean day (eg white fish, chicken breasts, no egg yolks) then maybe small amount of fatter meat might not be such a bad cheat.

ipredicttrouble · 09/09/2011 20:31

Thanks ellenrose, walk was really good this aft & Im actually looking forward to a run tomorrow. I know, deep down, that exercise is the key to me losing weight. I've lost about a stone or so before through lots of exercise & a reasonably strict diet (nowhere near as strict as Dukan!!). I'm only doing such a strict eating regime now because I don't have as much time to exercise at the moment.

Really enjoyed having veg today but struggling a bit this evening as Friday evenings here usually involve a really nice meal & some lovely vino! May just go to bed now to avoid temptation Wink

Oh well, onwards & upwards Smile. No pain no gain as they say.

Good luck over the weekend to everyone else doing the Dukan!

Good to see everyone sticking at it. Day 3 for me today - was at work so had limited food. I was starving in the afternoon.

Hoping for a loss on the scales tomrorow. -4 so far.

dearprudence · 09/09/2011 20:34

Waves at trouble.

I'm also in bed in a bid to avoid temptation Grin. Watching old episodes of friends with DS.

ipredicttrouble · 09/09/2011 20:58

Waves back!

Can't beat re-runs of Friends Smile. If I can just get to 9st13 soon I think I'll find the motivation to keep going! Just want to be under 10st (am only 5'4")

Where is everyone??

Day 4 today - for the first time I didn't spend most of the day feeling either unsatisfied or downright hungry.

No loss on the scales this morning, though. Sad Really hope to see something tomorrow...

ellenrose · 10/09/2011 21:50

Day 2 and not been as hard as I thought, even watching the family tuck in to the Roast Beef and trimmings, but my beef was nice and surprisingly filling Smile
Have done more walking today and kept off some of the dairy in a bid to the weight comes off - will be interested to see what happens on the scales in the morning.

dearprudence · 10/09/2011 23:14

Very good ellenrose. I felt really hungry on day 2, so you're doing well. Fingers crossed for a loss!

ellenrose · 11/09/2011 19:48

Another 1.5 lbs off Smile so pleased made progress as first day had been pretty rubbish!
Feeling ok with it as long as I remember to drink enough.
How is everyone else doing?

dearprudence · 11/09/2011 23:10

Well done ellenrose Smile
I lost 2 today so that's 6 since in 4 days SmileSmile

EllenRose · 12/09/2011 12:22

Fantastic dearprudence.

Another 1.5lbs off so 3 in total over 3 days so feeling ok with that.

Slightly concerned that I have been invited out with some other Mums on Friday night and not sure how I am going to get around it - short of turning up with a plate of meat Smile

Have also stupidly invited my Dad and his partner for a meal on Thursday so he is going to think I am barking only eating the Meat but I don't want to risk any progress.

dearprudence · 12/09/2011 18:59

Where are you eating on Friday? Can you make it a protein and veg day - if it's a restaurant you could order steak and veg or something. Have fun anyway.
I went to a family do on Sunday and took a box of chicken - was ok as most of my family are serial dieters.

My last day of protein only today - day 6. Am slightly nervous of introducing veg in case I get really hungry again, but also looking forward to some new flavours.

EllenRose · 13/09/2011 09:18

Not sure what we are eating yet, I am going to ask the host later and if I can get away with a PV day then that seems the best way forward.

Completely with you on the nervousness of starting Cruise - I have got used to Attack and don't want to mess up progress. Another 1lb off yesterday Smile
