Pig to Twig

Hi, has anyone got any experience of the 'From Pig to Twig' diet?

I've being doing Dukan on and off for a couple of months with some good results. But I'm getting a bit fed up of only being able to eat veg every other day and not being able to eat my favourite food - cheese! I've mostly stayed away from carbs so I think low-carb diets suit me, but I'm looking for something with a bit more variety.

Any comments/advice from anyone who's had a go?

Thanks!

Day 2, it is going ok. The lowest carb sausage I could find are the Morrisons Eat Smart ones. I don't think I will do phase 1 for more than 2 weeks.

sainsbos do v. low carb sausage

Hi everyone, after much deliberation (and procrastination) I'm back on P2T from Monday morning. It's worked for me before - definitely think low carbing is the way forward. Flirted with the idea of the Dukan diet but after reading it, it's much too restrictive for me, much as I love meat I've gotta have my veggies too!

Wish me luck! Clare x

I have had a good week. When I weighed in on Friday 5th August I was up 4lbs on the original 22 I had lost but that has all come off this week.

So onwards to get rid of the next stone! Properly walking everyday has helped I am sure. Really need to do some toning work on arms, bum and tum as going to be a Maid of Honour in November and the current size 14 is looking a bit Shock at the moment.

Boo81 · 13/08/2011 17:00

Hmmmm... I appear to be 1lb up this morning :(

I know I shouldn't weigh everyday but I got into the habit when I was doing Dukan. I had a bottle of Coke Zero yesterday so don't know if that made a difference, or maybe I didn't drink enough water. Oh well...onwards and upwards. I expected my weight loss to be slow as I already dropped about 10lbs on Dukan and have been eating low carb for a while now.

Clare8 I did Dukan for a few weeks but got sick of only being able to have veggies every second day. I was also sick to death of eating fat free fromage frais! P2T definitely has more variety

Day 3 yesterday for me was hard, finished work for the week now so can take it easy (if running around after a toddler can be called easy!)

Question for you - where do you stand on the whole diet coke question. In the pig2twig book it says diet fizzy drinks are the devil BUT a) I love it and b) there's no carbs so it couldn't possibly slow down any weight loss could it?

Spamspamspam · 18/08/2011 11:01

clare - ditch the diet coke. First it has caffeine which can slow down weight loss in some people and secondly it's something to do with the aspartame, proven to not make people lose weight.

Spamspamspam · 18/08/2011 11:02

Just drink gallons and gallons of water to flush out the ketones you will start producing.

Thanks for the replies, ok I'll get back on the water then

Hello!

I've fallen off the wagon the past few days for a number of reasons/excuses. My baby got quite sick so I was literally just grabbing food on the go with no time to do a proper P2T food shop. It was also my birthday this week so I had that whole "its my birthday I can eat bread, cake, chocolate" mindset. I have a few big things on this weekend so I'm going to start again on Monday with gusto. I absolutely must be 12 stone by mid September!

Well done all of you who are battling through!

Hello, hows everyone getting on?

I've been back on the wagon since Monday and its going ok. I've not been perfect though - had a few squares of dark chocolate the other nite and had some tsaziki (sp?) dip and hummous yesterday.

I weighed myself this morning and I'v not lost anything yet. But I don't think I've been chugging back enough water. Plus I've not erm....been to the toilet since Monday Blush. I've been taken the psyllium husks everyday but I think I might need some extra assistance at this stage!!

Well that wasn't too bad, first 2 weeks down and I nearly stuck to all the rules (hit the G&Ts on Fri night) Total weight loss 8 pounds Smile, only 2 stone more to go Blush

Good luck everyone, keep on going!

Great stuff!

BellsaRinging · 28/08/2011 14:33

Hello! Can I sign in please? I lost a lot of weight (about 3 stone) a few years ago and kept it off on P2T, but gave up low carbing when pregnant and breasfeeding. Have been on it again for 2 weeks and lost 1/2 stone, though some of that may be due to having just finished b/f! Only a stone to go now, but I think I'm going to need some moral support, what with all the chocolate and stuff I keep getting offered!

clare8allthepies · 28/08/2011 21:39

Welcome Bells! Sounds like we've got a lot in common (I stopped breastfeeding about 2 months ago but have only just got around to doing something about the gut!) Smile
