Id wait till next week tbh,its easier to join with a friend.
Grin at the water thing,i remember doing that with dd1 in the end when she was about flipping 18mos i gave her a cup,she kicked off but it worked after a few nights of roaring. How old is yours?Mine is 18wks and a fab sleeper apart fromt eh occasional blip which i over react to spectacuarly!

Also not having much luck in half term-dd wants to go for pizza today Shock I have a week then off to disney paris for a few dasy so wont be dieting then, looks like im off to the wedding as a size 16 then, will have to buy a nice tent to wear and just get drunk so i forget.

I've recently lost a stone over about 5-6 weeks.
This is how I did it.
Exercise! Wii fit most nights and also long walks.
Reduce portion size and cut out crap.

Typically for breakfast I'll have porridge with semi skimmed milk and a cup of tea.

Lunch is a tuna/boiled egg/cottage cheese salad with balsamic vinegar OR beans on toast (half a tin of beans and 1 slice of wholemeal toast). And a fat/low fat yoghurt OR banana.

Dinner is a weightwatchers or healthy living ready meal.

I snack on bananas, carrot sticks and cashew nuts.

I have also completely cut out wine at the moment until I reach my target weight. Only 10lbs to go!

ledkr · 01/06/2011 10:59

well done lady good for you, were you not starving after 1 slice of toast and some beans? I think i would have been haha
I have not had a drink for ages (was a half a bottle a day woman before) its made no difference. I am shredding daily tho and feeling quite fit,as i say the dieting will have to wait now until im back to some normal routine.

ledkr · 01/06/2011 11:00

btw-i like the ww meal idea,it would be good for me as i could cook for the family and then have my portion controlled version with some veg.

malibustac · 01/06/2011 11:11

Think your right ledkr if I go tonight I will probably mess about before next and mess it up. So I'll go next week. My dd is nearly 11 months she was a great sleeper until xmas when she took bronchiolitus and her sleeping pattern just went up in the air.

I really need to go buy kitchen scales.

LadyWithNoManors · 01/06/2011 11:50

Ledkr - If I'm hungry after the beans on toast I have a banana or a yoghurt. I have started eating slowly too so I feel full before I eat too much.
Also I think once you start eating smaller portions you get used to it and feel fuller on smaller amounts iykwim.

The WW meals work for me at the moment - like you said, I cook for the family and have I one of those. It's easier than trying to work out calories and fat content of a meal. When I reach my target weight I plan to then eat with the family again but smaller portions and obviously watching out for unhealthy things.

huffythethreadslayer · 01/06/2011 15:33

Malibustac the portion sizes could make me cry if I thought about them, but I just bulk everything out with fruit and veg. Today, for example, I've had a sandwich out at M&S, 255 calories, and a skinny cappucino. My girl ate the biscuit for me and I pinched one of the chocolate lumps out of her muffin. I haven't counted it, but hey ho...can't count everything. Got home and i'm starving, so I've eaten half a melon. I'm also having a nother drink of coffee, just to fill up a bit.

Well done Lady. You're an inspiration. I just need to get my bottom into gear with the exercise. I've been meaning to get onto the WII and I've got Biggest Loser (that I've never looked at) and 2 EA Sports exercise games. Might go drag them out when dd has finished with Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince :)

I keep hearing about this shredding business Ledkr. Just off to google it now so I can see what it's all about. Have a good Wednesday all :)

ledkr · 01/06/2011 16:06

oo yes am loving the shred.
mali dd had that at 6 days Sad was in hospital for 2weeks,i think mine maybe needing to wean soon as she jsut cant manage to drink morw than 3-4 oz unlike her greedy mama. The portion thing is so hard to get your head around, ive doneit before and its great,i just see sonething yummy and want to eat alot of it Grin

way2serious · 01/06/2011 20:22

I was going to start my own thread but then found this one already here! I feel so fat and frumpy and I just can't get myself motivated to do something about it. I hope if maybe I post on here it could get me on the straight and narrow.

TyNobdieJigz · 01/06/2011 20:39

Hi all, am feeling like I do nothing but eat now I have my own place and definately have bigger hips and belly atm.
Regarding the carb free diet, how many carbs is the top limit?
Calories confuse me if I go down that path, I always aim to low Blush What would a sensible amount of calories be to eat a day?
Thank you :)

malibustac · 01/06/2011 21:27

What diet you doing huffy?

ledkr dd was weaned early due to reflux but has decided mashed up food is rubbish, me I'd eat anything Grin

Your welcome to join us ladies, we're all in the same boat. Someone suggested foodfocus.com which will advise you of how many calories to have or if you look at the start of the thread custardo has a blog on low carb dieting.

glittery · 02/06/2011 14:39

www.foodfocus.co.uk is the calorie counting one
foodfocus.com takes you to a Canadian site i think

huffythethreadslayer · 02/06/2011 18:42

I'm basically following old ww...food focus is really helping. Had a bad day today though...had a big bowl of chips at the park and I'm off to the pub tonight with the girls, so that won't help! The walking will help a bit though :) And I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow :)

malibustac · 03/06/2011 00:15

Trust me to get my .com mixed up with co.uk Grin

Huffy ww's is the same kind of diet as scottish slimmers just a different way of counting calories. Are you using a class too?

way2serious · 03/06/2011 08:58

Well I had a good day yesterday and am back onto the Paul McKenna approach. I have 9 weeks before we go on holiday and so am hoping to lose a stone by then which isn't unreasonable.

I am going to try really hard not to wiegh myself until Monday - I always find not weighing difficult! That will be 5 days since I started. With PMk you are not supposed to weigh yourself for 2 weeks! I will let you know how i get on!

Good luck to everyone else.

ledkr · 03/06/2011 10:10

I spent the day at the open air pool FULLY F'ING CLOTHED [SHOCK] that is the final straw,am joining ww with a fat friend next week and have just done day one level 2 of the shred,no more fanying about on level 1. I am off to buy a one piece costume said thru gritted teeth,i had previously been 43 4dc's and still looked fab in a two piece

malibustac · 03/06/2011 13:29

Aww ledkr I'm 31 and both dc have wrecked my body so even when thin I'll never be able to wear a 2 piece unless its a tankini Grin just think it won't take you long to drop 2 st. I'm doing fat class next week and back to zumba!

What's the PMK like wayto? I had the video which did hypnosis with you is that what your doing?
