From what I understand it's based on similar scientific theory to the GI diet, but takes into account average portion sizes to give a "Glycaemic Load", thus meaning that carrots are "low" (in GI they're high) and pasta is moderate to fairly high.

Anyway, just wanted to know whether anyone has any experience of it.

There's a few of us doing the GI diet and tbh I think it does take into account portion size although not so explicitly. For example I limit myself to 40g portion of pasta (horribly small ) but I eat carrots freely. I think this is where the different GI books differ - so some don't include bananas, mangoes, sweet potatoes etc whereas others do. I think these things probably have quite a high GI value but a lower GL.

Anyway I'm sure you would get on fine with a GL approach.
