Anyone else tend to eat constantly?

I seem to be eating all the time. I've been like this for ages and would like to stop.
I eat anything I can find, if theres not proper snacks around, I'll just eat dry cereal or bread.
I can't even remember the last time I felt hungry. That in itself is shameful and I've gained so much weight recently.

I want to try to eat 3 meals a day and snack only on fruit.
Its not really about dieting yet though I'm hoping weight loss will be side affect, its about getting back into the habit of just eating regular meals. It doesn't matter what the meals are even. I just need to get back in touch with my body and start to be healthier.

does anyone want to join me?

Grin at constance dipping some quorn pieces in her tea.
I havent really eaten today, does anyone find it easier to just not eat?
I was at my all time thinnest when i was on the fag and wine diet.

ConstanceFelicity · 22/04/2011 20:43

Ha! I haven't tried quorn in tea yet, but now you come to mention it... Wink

Jahan · 22/04/2011 21:16

Thanks QueenStromba. That plan looks really good.
Mmm quorn in tea. Sounds good Smile

Ledkr I was at my skinniest when I worked with a group of colleagues who insisted on doing a 11am toast run. I'd never eat breakfast at home as I was expected to join in. Then I was too full for lunch and as I lived alone, I'd go home and eat 1 bowl of cereal for dinner. That was it!
I couldn't do that now.

I had my dinner following that 1/4 plate rule, then I went out for a long walk and chat with a friend. I've not had anything since 7 and am determined not to. Thanks for all your support and advice Smile

GL/GI diets seem to work best with 3 regular meals and try to cut out the snacks. Every snack will spike blood sugar levels up and then they crash in a constant cycle. Having a good breakfast ideally with some protein tends to set people up for much less snacking each day. Most British women don't eat anything like enough protein.

QueenStromba · 23/04/2011 00:39

I disagree Xenia, the GI diet is all about keeping your blood sugar levels stable which means eating little and often. Really you should be eating about 6 times day on it. So have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the 3-400 calorie range and 3 snacks of about 100 calories each so a piece of fruit, a carrot, a piece of toast with philadelphia or something.

Xenia · 23/04/2011 08:47

I don't think we really disagree too much. If you have a planned snack that's fine but if it becomes snack snack snack grazing all day not hungry by the time the next meal comes then that's not good. Some people just can't have one small snack. It just starts them over eating.

ppeatfruit · 23/04/2011 09:31

On PaulMckenna you ONLY eat when you are hungry and eat SLOWLY and consciously (20 chews per mouthful) it bloody works i tell you! you DO eat more often 'cos you have to stop when you're full!

ppeatfruit · 23/04/2011 09:40

....Cont. and you feel full much sooner than you think (its amazing how we stuff down too much food all the time!)

ppeatfruit · 23/04/2011 09:48

ALSO ON PAUL MC. YOU CAN EAT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT!!!!!There are no forbidden foods (I eat for my blood type but i have still lost weight).

Definitely not falling on deaf ears here, HowToLookGoodGlaikit . I have just plucked up the courage to introduce myself on the Paul McKenna thread and have bought the books, too. Smile

Jahan · 23/04/2011 16:45

No, not on deaf ears Smile
I've a friend who raves on about it too and has been losing weight slowly on it.
She keeps telling me to eat slowly. Its true that I eat really quickly. I think I naturally did it anyway but after I had kids I started to eat as quickly as possible before I was bothered.
I will look into the deatils of it but haven't had time yet.

Another good day today. Have so far stuck to meals and 2 snack times (although the snacks were 1/2 a hot cross bun and a strawberry split and fruit)
