Have also looked into both but only know about SW in depth. The strength of SW is that on their classic plan, there is an enormous choice of 'free' foods that you can stuff your face with...for example, on a 'green' day, you could eat as many baked potatoes stuffed with beans as you liked. High calorie extras like butter are given a 'syn' value and most people make sure they have no more than 10-15 a day. Groups can also be very supportive and welcoming and there is a (voluntary) meeting every week to talk about problems you might be having/share success. HTH!

I think it depends a lot on you. My sis lost 4-5 stones on sw, but I tried that and it didn't suit me at all. WW worked a treat for me though. SW restricted combinations of food, so it was hard to have protein and carbs together. WW offers two lpans: one where you eat what you want and evrything has a points value, then you are given a number of points for you. The one I am doing is no count, you get a free food lists (lean meat, veg, pasta, spuds, fruit etc) which you eat 3 times a day UNTIL YOU ARE FULL, snacks are fuit or ww sweets.

It needs to be the one that suits you, and a leader you get on with.
