Lost weight & calling DP overweight?

DH and I have been together for nearly 30 years. I have usually been slim(ish), very tall, dress size 12 (10 when in v slim phase / younger). In the few years I have become menopausal, gone on HRT and gone up a dress size to 12/14.

DH has been overweight for a good decade and bordering on clinically obese in recent years. Anyway he decided to do something about it and has cut back food / increased exercise over the last few months and lost over a stone already. He didn't say anything about trying to lose weight and I didn't mention it either apart from recently when I said he had lost some weight, well done and maybe he should buy some clothes in the next size down.

Anyway last night DH told me he thought I was grossly overweight. I checked my BMI on the NHS calculator and found that I am 1kg over their healthy limit of BMI of 25. Ideally I would like to lose some weight and fit / look good in all my size 12 clothes (I don't think I'll ever be a size 10 again) but I found his outburst really annoying, especially as his BMI is still 3 points above mine!

So, my question is, when you lost weight did you start hectoring your OH over their weight in a 'born again' way?

Yes I did, but not in a born again way, more of a jokey way and because when I'm on a diet, it's the only thing I can talk about.

DH lost weight as I was losing weight because I refused to let any crap into the house. He then went on to lose a bit more on his own through exercise and now has probably lost too much and looks a bit gaunt (6ft, approx 12 stone 3). I do regret making comments about his love handles. He is now lighter than I was when I started dieting and it makes me realise how much I needed to lose.
