lol

how much do you need to lose?

PinkButterfly · 19/10/2010 11:53

Got 2.5 stone to lose Sprinkle.. I know there are lots of people who wish that's all they had but it's major for me. I am only 5ft and am used to being a pretty fit and healthy six 6/8. I just can't seem to motivate myself. Have a gym membership, a wii-fit that's been in the box for two years and every work-out dvd you can think of... just ordered 30 Days Shred to add to my collection. lol. Got to the point now I have one pair of jeans in my wardrobe that I fit into and the other day I went to work in maternity dress trousers!!!!! Though if I had somewhere to "check in" each day I will stay motivated..???

i have four stone to lose...am 5ft 11 and currently not eating alot and have little appetite! so have lost some

not weighing myself just yet tho!

i find cutting out some carbs helps. and reducing portion sizes too

Iklboo · 19/10/2010 12:49

I use My Fitness Pal.com - you record what height & weight you are, what you want to be and it works out your allowance of calories, carbs, fat, protein etc. The you go on each day and put in what you've eaten and it adds it all up for you. It's got a huge database of food already in for you and it's really easy to use (no, I don't work for them Grin). I've lost nearly 3 stone since June.
I also use My Fitness Coach on the Wii - you don't need the Wii Fit bit - and do 15 minutes cardio 5 days a week.

i have lost just over 5 stones since January most weight came off in a few minths but i still lose a pound or 2 every week though i only weigh myseklf once a month.I would not go ear the threads that all they do is talk about food ,what they ate what they want to eat etc whats the point in obsessing about food all the time / just makes you hungrier Imo igo to the gym do 30 minutes cross trainer. 15 or 30 minutes treadmill. i have done thwe 30 day shred but much prefer Davina Mcoll workout for resiults

vintage4 · 19/10/2010 13:09

omg my spelling, sorry

PinkButterfly · 19/10/2010 17:54

Iklboo... oh that's you got me addicted to my fitnesspal.com..... 35lbs to lose all set up on my ticker! lol. I also have My Fitness Coach.. Another workout disc never even opened. Will have a look.

Vintage... 5 stones - well done you! I need to get back to gym.. my time is limited with three kids unfortunately. I have ordered the Shred and have a couple of Davina disks.. also Hannah Waterman, Isabella and Nell McAndrew to name a few....

Food is not as much of an issue for me as too much wine and not enough exercise but I will concentrate on all three.

Thanks so much for your message. I will keep you informed and look forward to hearing how you girls are doing.

Il join you Grin i need to lose about 2 stone.

Im doing 30 day shred combined with walking and hannah watermans body blitz.

Mssoul · 19/10/2010 18:14

Oh, can I join please? Smile

Been counting the calories since yesterday breakfast and trying to walk instead of car/bus. Would love to lose 2stone (actually 3, but 2 would be enough to get into the clothes I can't get into).

Did low carb earlier in year but it's all piled back on. I'm either extremely disciplined or extremely undisciplined. No middle ground!

I also suffer from too much wine, too little exercise!

PinkButterfly · 19/10/2010 20:36

Oh welcome SMS and Mssoul, like that we have similar amounts of weight to lose and doing similar activities.
SMS... 30 day Shred AND Hannah????? You are brave! I am looking forward to my Shred arriving so Hannah and my Wii Fit and Trainer will have to do for now... oh I am seriously enjoying Just Dance on the Wii... that must be burning some cals too surely??? Will eventually return to the gym when I have lost a good few pounds of lard. My eating has been great today and I resisted that bottle of wine when doing my shopping. No exercise managed but still feeling chuffed with my first day at it. Smile
Think I could get seriously addicted to myfitnesspal.com too though.. thanks again for the heads up on that one Iklboo.

Mssoul meant to say that I generally am very disciplined once I get my willpower in check... was the fact that I managed to rip out of yet another pair of jeans yesterday leaving me with only one pair that actually fit... They were in the wash today and I had to go to supermarket in...... bloody maternity jeans that I haven't worn for three years!! Not a happy bunny.. Needless to say that was all that was required. Determined not to go to shops and buy new clothes in a bigger size, for me that would just make me feel that I had come to terms with being fat and I am and not doing that... NO WAY! Have a rather huge wardrobe full of gorgeous clothes that were fitting me perfectly this time last year .. I will get back into them. Hmm

pinkButterfly I find the 30 day shred too harsh on my knee, i have to take it easy sometimes and for some strange reason I can Hannahs DVD and knee doesnt hurt.. odd but true.

Im trying to sort myself out, got a potential trip to lapland in Feb and I need to be fit for that.. then again the excess body fat may come in handy to keep me warm Grin
