Have already posted in Chat but I need support so am posting here too Smile

Have stacked on the weight in the past 4 months. No reason, no excuse, just bad food choices and over-eating. Too much bread and too many takeaways. For the past few weeks I've felt horrible. My size 14's are straining. Eurgh.

Yesterday I was in Boots and decided to bite the bullet and weighed myself. Eeeeegads. I weigh 11st 11lbs. Roughly the same as one of my Uncle's heifers.

To put in into context I was 10st 4lbs in June .

So anyway I binned all the crap in the cupboards and went to the Leisure Centre and have joined the gym. I have my induction on Wednesday .

Today I've eaten Bran Flakes for breakfast, jacket potato with low fat chilli for lunch and steamed haddock and veg for tea. 6 pints of water and only nuts/rice cakes as snacks.

I feel motivated and really positive .

By xmas I'm hoping to be well on my way to 10st!

Here's to taking control and no longer being in denial

good luck!! once u get out of the bad foods 'habits' you'll be fine (i'm just tucking in to a take away but i'm 34 weeks pregnant) so i'll be in your position soon. Maybe put a little cash away for a new outfit for xmas as a reward for yourself :)

yesyouknowme · 11/10/2010 22:14

your statistics are very like mine .
I'm 5'4" and too fat.

feeling motivated is half the battle. Staying motivated is very tough and I am not good at it Sad

BunnyLebowski · 11/10/2010 22:24

I'm 5'4 too yes. It means I look all the more weeble like with my current bulk Sad.

I know I'm never going to be a size 8 and I genuinely don't want to be.

I just want to be a realistic weight (which for me 10st is). I want to look good, be able to wear what I want and to feel good when I look in the mirror naked.

The stupid thing is that after dd was born (she's 2) I lost all the baby weight and was looking fab. Now I've let myself become a moose again.

It's coming off!! I'm going to be an xmas hottie Grin

b4 i got pregnant i lost too much weight, was a size 6/8 at 5"7 and it wasnt a good look, i didnt realise til i started gaining weight (and boobs) again that actually feeling good with yourself being a particular size rather than what you see on the scales is lots better.

BunnyLebowski · 11/10/2010 22:34

Very true pinky.

I'm hoping I don't lose my boobs (36D) completely I'm an hourglass so I'm hoping I end up like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.d.umn.edu/~jvaleri/mar.jpg&imgrefurl=www.d.umn.edu/~jvaleri/dissatisfaction%2520with%2520bodies.htm&usg=__IUT7Rz0GShyKHfLN9bbKRBjrQV8=&h=450&w=325&sz=36&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=ncsNMyvKQ0n5eM:&tbnh=142&tbnw=110&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmarilyn%2Bmonroe%2Bbody%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D905%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=386&ei=O4KzTJDdEcvLswaK_vCRDQ&oei=O4KzTJDdEcvLswaK_vCRDQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=50&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=59&ty=66" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Marilyn

I once slimmed obsessively to 9st. I looked red carpet worthy but was as miserable as sin and as DP puts it 'a nightmare' to live with. I used to weigh every single food item I ate Blush.

Not worth it. I want to be healthy and happy and still have my occasional vino sessions and treats.

i thought i looked good when i was slim, when in reality i just looked slim, my skin wasnt great - pale, spotty not a great look.I feel loads more attractive now (approx 3 stone heavier - 34 weeks pregnant) but my skin is glowing and i have boobs and curves :) wish i could bottle the pregnancy glow lol!!
Anyway what i ment to say in my last post was dont get too obsessed with the scales esp with you starting at the gym as tonning (sp) up might mean you weigh more but you've actually lost inches/ gone down a size etc

BunnyLebowski · 11/10/2010 22:57

It sounds like pregnancy is suiting you very well Smile

I don't own scales. Will weigh myself once a week at the gym for my own motivation but am realistic about it.

It's weird. From the moment I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks I didn't weigh myself at all. I saw pregnancy as completely removed from weight-watching. I ate healthily, didn't use it as an excuse to pig out and regarded the inevitable weight gain as part and parcel of growing a bouncing (8lb 8oz) baby girl.

And after having her I didn't weigh myself for a year. Breastfeeding helped me lose weight and I felt fab.

It's now that I feel uncomfortably podgy and just plain ol' fat that I know I'm not going to stay this way.

Thanks for your advice. I will stick about and keep you posted Smile and good luck with the bump!

Thank you, like i said once i've popped i'll be looking to loose the excess baby weight myself but with it being over christmas i know i'll have a job on my hands. Keep posting on how your doing, i think your pretty fired up to do this so i'll say good luck but i dont really think you need it :)

Joby1970 · 12/10/2010 12:41

Can I suggest a DVD for when u can't make the gym? Jillian Micheals 30 DAY SHRED is marvellous & has worked for many of us on here. (We have a thread here too) - it only takes 20 mins.

BunnyLebowski · 12/10/2010 15:18

Thanks Joby Smile. 20 mins? Wow! I thought you had to exercise for at least 40 mins or something like that to start burning fat??

Will find your other thread Smile.

I've had a great day. Had muesli and fruit for breakfast. Soup and a roll for lunch and am having grilled rainbow trout with homemade ratatouille for dinner!

Me and DD walked almost 5 miles today too!

Gym induction is tomorrow morning. I've been and bought a tracksuit. Just call me Sue Sylvester Wink.

Can I suggest Paul Mckenna [google I can Make you Thin) You can eat anything but he re educates your eating habits and it works really well there's a thread on here see you there Bunny?

Butterbur · 13/10/2010 13:23

Running is great for losing weight (and controlling your appetite). I am the worlds worst runner, but I found it is actually very easy to fit in a 20 minute run, and you don't have to go at Paula Radcliffe speeds. If I can, anyone can.

At the beginning of August I was 11st 9lb, and am 5ft 3.5in. Now I am 9st 13lb, and don't want to lose any more.

Not that I'm feeling smug or anything...

formerdiva · 13/10/2010 13:29

Good on ya Bunny Smile

Agree with ppeatfruit about Paul McKenna - the man's a genius. Changed my attitude to food for life (...and yes, I still do eat Kebabs. Just not hundreds of them).

BunnyLeBOOwski · 13/10/2010 13:51

Wow Butterbur You're my new idol! 9st 13lb would be just perfect for me! Any less and I lose my curves!

Running would be great but we live in a less than lovely area and the only time I could run would be early in morn/late at night. I think I would be too afraid of getting jumped Shock.

Thank you formerdiva - I will try to check Paul McKenna out!

Had my gym induction this morning and it was fantastic!! I'm going back tomorrow and they're going to do me a personal fitness plan.

Have eaten really well again today and am feeling really on top of things!!

BunnyLeBOOwski · 18/10/2010 10:15

I just want to get this down.

Since starting last Sunday I've been eating brilliantly and have been to the gym 5 times and this morning I weigh 11st 5lb!!!

Am bloody delighted!

WOO HOO Grin

As you were Wink

MaudOHara · 18/10/2010 10:22

Wow bunny thats fab - and very inspiring as I NEED to do something about my ever increasing weight

BunnyLeBOOwski · 18/10/2010 11:13

Thanks Maud Grin

It's like a switch has turned on in my head. I am not even remotely tempted by the buttery bread/crisps/biccies I was mainlining a few weeks ago.

I'm aiming for 10st 7lb by xmas. I've seen some fab dresses that I have to fit in to for the party season :)

lushlady · 22/10/2010 19:30

So good to see so many ladies on here aiming for the same goal. Its inspired to get in gear and stop moaning about my weight all a the time. I'm on a mission now!

BunnyLeBOOwski · 26/10/2010 23:48

Go lushlady Grin

Just thought I'd bump this as it's helping me to write my progress down.

I've been to the gym 4 times a week eevery week since starting and have completely rehauled my diet.

I've lost 8 lbs in the 2 weeks since starting and I feel bloody fab!

Am now 11st 3lbs and getting lower hopefully Smile

One slight annoyance....not one person (bar DP) has noticed or commented on the loss Sad. Silly of me to care I know but it makes me think that maybe I don't look any different Sad.

Happycornwallmum · 27/10/2010 08:02

Hey Bunny i'm sure you will start to get compliments rolling in in no time, you are doing sooo well,i am inspired to pull myself from my rutt Smile
