Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

I'll join! I just did my first injection about an hour ago.

I'm looking to lose around two stone. I've just had a big birthday and realised I've spent the last decade and a half battling my weight - I don't want to spend the next one like that!

I've managed to keep most of a 50 pound weight loss off for the last 8 years or so, but despite years of trying I've never managed to crack a healthy BMI, so hoping this is my time.

rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 15:08

Glad to have someone on the journey with me @rebecva! How are you feeling, guessing it’s a bit soon to notice any side effects yet?

That is an incredible achievement! Well done!

I’m with you, spent so many years unhappy so I’m deciding I’m actually going to do something about it!

Fingers crossed we get there 🤞🏼

I have been burping a bit (TMI) which might be related but otherwise feeling fine! Haven't eaten since lunch and not feeling hungry yet..

rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 20:11

Oh that’s interesting @rebecva! You’ll have to let me know how you feel tomorrow! My order was shipped today so I’m hoping to receive tomorrow and start tomorrow too.

which pharmacy are you using?

Wishiwasatailor · 28/05/2026 20:30

I'll join! Had my prescription confirmed today and will be shipped tomorrow probably start the 1st of June. Have 5stone to loose to be in a healthy bmi but I'll be happy with 4.

Sparkle16 · 28/05/2026 20:56

I am wanting to order but scared to start. All the best ladies.

I am wanting to order but scared to start. All the best ladies.

Why do you feel scared? Is it the worry about injecting yourself, side effects or other peoples unwanted opinions. 😁

rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 21:24

Hey @Wishiwasatailor, glad we’re all in it together! Keep us updated!

OP posts:
rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 21:26

@Sparkle16i was exactly the same, but just decided to try it and see. If it works great, if it’s not for me then that’s also ok!

i completely get it, for me it was the worry of side effects, the stigma around it etc. But after a chat with my husband I just decided that I’m doing this for myself and no one else, and ultimately I know I’ll be happier if it aids my weight loss journey and I can get to my goal weight!

just do lots of research etc and weigh up the pros and cons 😊

OP posts:
Sparkle16 · 28/05/2026 21:30

Yes the side effects worry me like will I lose my hair, etc

KittytheHare · 28/05/2026 21:31

I took my first injection 2 days ago. No obv side effects except a little nausea. I feel as though a switch has flipped in my head! It’s not just that my appetite is suppressed, I genuinely now know what people mean when they talk about the food noise quietening.
I am definitely someone who seeks à dopamine hit from overindulging (sweet stuff, alcohol, etc) so this calmness is amazing.
I’m 5 ft 3, and around 70kg. My goal weight is 54kg.

rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 22:05

@Sparkle16I get that, I think that’s why people say try and do it steadily, exercise rather than using it as a quick fix, use it as something to aid your journey.

I think hair loss specifically (someone please feel free to correct me if this js wrong) is linked to rapid weight loss, rather than the actual medication. Don’t know if that helps but something to consider!

I obviously haven’t started yet but I did and still do have the same worries, so I do understand! I think as long as you do your research, whatever decision you make (whether to go on it or not) is ultimately the right one for you. Maybe it’s worth speaking with your GP or a pharmacy for advice?

@KittytheHareoh wow worked for you super quick then. Are you managing to eat to sustain your calories? This is one of the things I’m worried about is getting a complete food ‘ick’ and having to force food down (unlikely as I’m such a foodie!)

OP posts:
KittytheHare · 28/05/2026 22:32

@rosecbrm no I haven’t actually gone off food, it’s more that I feel hungry but smaller amounts of really tasty foods

onethousandandtwo · 28/05/2026 22:36

Whichever pharmacy you start with keep an eye on the Mounjaro comparison website. Lots of people regularly move pharmacies to get the new customer discounts. There's lots of information there too about maintenance pharmacies for when you all hit goal!!

Watch Fatoldclimber on YouTube for information about click dosing smaller doses from larger pens. It works out much cheaper per dose but you do have to keep ordering every few weeks so end up with a stockpile.

Fatoldclimber will also tell you about the fifth dose to stretch the pens, although this is being phased out starting with the 5mg pen.

Good luck.

I’ll join I am starting today! Bit nervous but excited.

downthehillhome · Yesterday 08:58

my first pen is arriving today! I’m both nervous and excited to begin this journey.

rosecbrm · Yesterday 09:08

where abouts is everyone doing their jab? Voys guides say that doing it in stomach / arm / leg shouldn’t make a difference to side affects, but I’ve seen online that actually sometimes going in your stomach enhances them?

OP posts:
AParentofBoys · Yesterday 09:36

Oh! Well I’ve just done it in my stomach! Hopefully I don’t get any side effects!

rebecva · Yesterday 09:57

I haven't had any major side effects since taking my jab yesterday but I'm definitely feeling the suppression already. Pretty happy as part of me felt it wouldn't work

AParentofBoys · Yesterday 10:07

@rebecva- have you felt anything at all? I am being hypersensitive and checking how I feel! Daft as only been an hour but was a little nervous. Am going to track my food to make sure enough water and fibre / protein.

rosecbrm · Yesterday 12:13

I’ve just done mine too! Feel like I messed up a bit when priming - so much squirted out rather than just a drop! And then I forgot to wait the 5-10 seconds after injecting and some dripped out from where I injected. Nightmare! Think it’s because I was so anxious.

hopefully majority of it was taken in though!

OP posts:
rosecbrm · Today 08:15

How’s everyone feeling today? I’m defo feeling a mort suppressed appetite and less food noise. No bad side effects yet..

OP posts:
QueenStevie · Today 09:41

Hi, can I join your journey please? Literally just done my first injection. Am really nervous about side effects as I don't cope well with nausea etc. I was a little nervous doing the injection but actually easier than I thought it might be but I felt like I was all fingers and thumbs doing it.

I am 13st 3 and 5'8" BMI 27.5
Hoping to be 10st 10 but would settle for 11 st (be nice to see a number starting with 10 again though!)
