We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

Thanks for the new thread!

dozywelshbird · 16/05/2025 14:53

thanks @wlinewbie0425 can't believe we are on thread 3 already 😮

StartingApril2025 · 16/05/2025 15:05

A different week 3 to me compared to week 2, suppression and fullness higher this week for sure than last week and hasn’t ran out yesterday or today like last week. So think my period definitely did impact that last week. Ready to take shot 4 tomorrow morning and will weigh then but think I'm down 10/11 pounds in the 3 weeks which is massive for me. If next week is same as this week I think I’ll stay at 2.5mg for another month and see how I go. As I get from a doctor I don’t have to order so have right up to the appointment to decide. So hard to know what to do! I have 3 stone at the very least to lose now to get into top of healthy bmi, seems a lot but know il get there!

Chunkysewist · 16/05/2025 15:12

Yay thread 3! Thanks @wlinewbie0425

I'm staying on 2.5!!!!

PeachSnail · 16/05/2025 16:12

Wow - that's a huge loss @Hawkmoth- congrats! 👏👏👏

Yes - I can see 2.5 must be working well for you! 😃

Hawkmoth · 16/05/2025 16:15

I think, as well as lipoedema, I must have had secondary lymphoedema, used to get DH to prod me and tell him 'fat doesn't feel like that'. Well now I'm just soft and wobbly all over so that's all gone. I guess that means everything from here on in will be fat.

I do feel a bit weird about it though. I need some processing time I think.

StartingApril2025 · 16/05/2025 16:26

@Hawkmoth 14kg in 4 weeks!!!!! Woooowsers I genuinely didn’t think that would be possible , how are you feeling? Yes absolutely no need to go up doses ! Excited to hear how your next few weeks go! X

Hawkmoth · 16/05/2025 16:31

@StartingApril2025 I feel strange. Like I'm really pleased and I feel SO much better it's almost unbelievable. For example, he asked today if I'd had any headaches and I realised that OMG I'm not having headaches every day.

But I'm cross because it's another example of medical gaslighting, which has pretty much been the story of my life. They just saw a big woman and assumed it was all fat, but I think it's obvious that quite a bit of it wasn't now, and I've spent a lot of time carrying all that retained fluid around feeling like shit when perhaps I didn't need to.

Cravingpotatoes · 16/05/2025 16:41

Thread 3! Posting to make sure I keep following!

I have ordered 5mg from oushk, I wanted to stay on 2.5 but I panicked when I ordered. I think I might try 3.75, but what should I do with any that is unused after the 30days? I bought insulin needles so I can extract the golden dose

StartingApril2025 · 16/05/2025 16:56

@Hawkmoth ah I’m sure, so frustrating when medical professionals just don’t get it.
yes a lot of that must have been fluid is right- have you been peeing/ sweating a lot ?
after preeclampsia I was so so so swollen and lost 7 lbs of fluid over 3 days but I remember peeing constantly and sweating the sheets all night.
hopeful this settles down for you now and you will continue to see good loses and let your mind catch up, I’m sure your clothes are much looser? Which will be so helpful in the hot weather!

Hawkmoth · 16/05/2025 16:59

That's another thing... I haven't sweated for over 2 years. Everyone I have told just remarks upon how unusual that is. Thanks...

But I have been peeing more!

I'm sure I will catch up. I've just gone over my goals list again and it made me feel a bit more grounded. There are real, exciting and eminently achievable things ahead for me. The past is the past.

ellieinfrance · 16/05/2025 17:06

Thanks for the new thread! W3 D2 here and think I'm about 12lb down. Have just ordered my 5mg pen for next week.

Ricoletti · 16/05/2025 17:08

Thanks for the new thread @wlinewbie0425, we are such a bunch of chatty Cathy’s- I love it!

Ive been freezing today which is so funny as it’s boiling outside! Was up and out at 5am to get early flight home , and I do usually get a bit more cold when tired… but I’m literally wearing long sleeves, cardigan and Ugg boots in the baking sun and still feel chilly 🤣

I promised the kids I’d take them to Pizza Hut this evening, so I’m defo sticking to one slice and some salad bar after my teatime disaster yesterday. I haven’t actually eaten anything since then!

wish me luck for a better reaction to food 🍀

im so pleased for you, onwards and upwards indeed 🥳

reading this has made me so angry at the (mainly men, in my experience ) doctors that just fob off women when there are real medical needs !

im sorry you have had this experience. I am inspired by your gumption and am so glad you are sharing your amazing journey with us all .

im still angry at the crappy treatment I got re HRT , and how I was told by 2 separate doctors that I was just being paranoid and reading too many stories on the internet about perimenopause because it’s ’trendy Now’ to think you are peri in your early 40’s 🤬
like hair loss, night sweats and joint pain (agony) are in my head ?!

Hawkmoth · 16/05/2025 17:18

The best one is when I asked GP to be referred for autism assessment and he said oooh, you've done a questionnaire. He proceeded to look up the questionnaire, complete it himself (very high score) and declare that since he didn't have it, I couldn't possibly either. I do. Diagnosed last year!

Good Lord! The mind boggles…

I had a similarly dismissive repose when seeking a referal for an ADHD assessment. I was told (by a patronising man) that because I am ‘managing nicely’ in my stressful job that there’s no way I have ADHD.

( I do in fact have ADHD , and was diagnosed immediately upon assessment. )

thanks for your input Doctor patronising …who isn’t qualified to assess neurodivergence and defo needs to attend some Doctor skills training .. maybe they could invite your doctor too 🫠

Hawkmoth · 16/05/2025 17:30

I laugh reacted to that because it's funny. But it's not really is it? Fat, hormones, the brain... Where's the curiosity and open-mindedness?

toobusytoclean · 16/05/2025 18:26

Thanks for the new thread @wlinewbie0425 this is such a wonderful space to reflect, celebrate weight loss and NSVs and to find support and answers. I may not contribute much, but value this forum highly.
@Hawkmoth you must be feeling so much better now. I’m celebrating the unadvertised effect of MJ calming my IBS. I have so much more energy and don’t dread the morning explosive trip to the toilet 🤢

catchingzzzeds · 16/05/2025 18:41

IttttttssssME · 16/05/2025 18:54

Week 8 and 11 pounds pounds down. Am peri as well and period non existent for 55 days (defo not pregnant), constipation is 3 days each week then normal. I was starving last week and then today my appetite just left me.
im on Wegovy

StartingApril2025 · 16/05/2025 18:54

@toobusytoclean that’s great I think for a lot of ppl the slower digestion is a help. For me it is for sure.
@Ricoletti @Hawkmoth unbelievable. I find it’s just female oppression alll the time, I had a nightmare trying to get my daughter assessed for autism when if you know anything about autism in females and how it presents differently then it was so so obvious in her case. Had to go private instead, and she’s only a child!
