Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

Hello! I posted on your other thread, thanks for starting this one 😊

Starting/current weight - 80kg
Target weight - 60-65kg

My first month's prescription is being delivered by Oushk this afternoon 😬 will update later or tomorrow!

Lovethecaketoomuch · 31/01/2025 13:33

Hey,

I am starting Monday so it’s a fresh start for a new months and week. Pen is in the fridge ready to go. Very nervous to start.
Current Weight: 109Kg
Goal: 70Kg

Good Luck everyone starting your new journeys ☺️

Crunk · 31/01/2025 13:57

Placed my first order today so will presumably start next week

starting weight: 99kg.
Goal: 75-80kg

viktoria · 31/01/2025 14:31

I started end of January.
Was very nervous about possible side effects. Have had none
I'm only in my 2nd week but it literally is like a miracle.
Previously I could not go one day without eating chocolate - even if it was just two squares of 70%. Not only have I not had chocolate since - I have not felt any desire to have any.
It's like my appetite/desire for any unhealthy food has been switched off.
And I obviously also have reduced appetite for all food.
Without feeling like it's hard work or I'm depriving myself.

The only thing I'm currently worried about is going up to a higher dosage after 4 weeks, as it seems more people suffer side effects then.

Starting weight 98.7kg
Current weight 93.7kg
Goal 75-80kg

Mounjaroday · 31/01/2025 15:49

Good luck @Lovethecaketoomuch @Feb2025start @Crunk

@viktoria this has been my experience too. Wow that’s loads of weight to have lost.

So far, I’ve had a banana today and don’t feel hungry at all. Definitely need to plan out my meals as I’ve not done that at all which is probably not great.

Have you told friends / family? I’ve told some of my friends - reactions have ranged from horrified or alarmed to very supportive and thinking of doing the same. I have not told my family (apart from DH) … I’m hoping to have sheds loads and surprise my sister when I see her in a few weeks! Think she’ll be really pleased for me.

Just gave myself my first injection! I'd been a bit worried that I'd mess it up somehow but it was very simple and straightforward.

@viktoria that's an amazing loss already! You must be so pleased 😊

@Mounjaroday I haven't told anyone, not even DH! It's not so much that I'm worried about reactions or being judged, more that I feel like people knowing will make it more stressful/pressured, especially if I turn out to be non-responsive at the 2.5 level (as I know many people are). My older sister lives overseas and is on weight loss meds of some kind (they're pills prescribed by her GP) and she didn't tell anyone until she'd lost enough for it to be noticeable so I'll probably do the same.

I am pleased. And feel great.
I've had the weight loss despite having had pizza two nights ago (but went for the one from pizza express with salad in the middle - and didn't want the tiramisu that I would usually eat) and an Indian takeaway with a group of friends last night. Again, just had smaller portions.

Today, so far, I've had
two scrambled eggs,
two slices of rye bread with cream cheese and avocado,
raspberries,
1 banana,
some almonds and cashews.
Plus at least 3 litres of water.
So not no food. Plus, will have some dinner later

I have not told anybody other than my husband. I just don't want any judgement for the time being. Not sure what I'm going to say once the weight loss is visible and being commented on.

itcouldalwaysgetworse · 31/01/2025 16:22

Yes please. Am going to take the first injection this evening, so hoping all goes well.

Start at 108kg (am saying this - weighed last week, but in preparation of starting have eaten all the leftover Christmas food in the house, so could be more)
Goal 70kg

Am wishing everyone well and support

timeformetolose · 31/01/2025 16:25

Hahaa I did similar to you in eating all the unhealthy crap I had in under the pretence of 'preparing' and 'removing temptation' before starting! I've had two Muller corners and a Kinder Bueno today which is way more than I'd usually have in a single day... Oh well, onwards and upwards! Good luck 😊

FatBottomGirlz · 31/01/2025 16:30

I had my first injection on Monday

starting weight 14st 2.5
goal weight not decided

i can’t believe the change in how I feel. Im eating three small meals a day, but I’ve never been less bothered about food. Lots of eat healthy, whole food, and get enough protein and fibre. First proper weekly weigh in tomorrow, but I had a cheeky peek on the scales this morning and I was down 3lbs.

Mounjaroday · 31/01/2025 16:48

Good luck this evening @itcouldalwaysgetworse and welcome @timeformetolose!

@FatBottomGirlz agree its amazing the change in appetite. You are very brave - I daren’t weight myself yet, will give it a good few days before I do.

I'm also starting tonight.
Starting weight = 13st 11lb (bmi 32.1)
Goal for May 25= 12st 6lb
Final goal tbc
I haven't told anyone except my partner who is very supportive. I'm mostly concerned about the social side of things; I want to be able to still enjoy the food I eat as it's currently a BIG source of pleasure which is why I'm in this position. I see food as a reward which I know must change.

I'm starting tonight too. I've had it sat in the fridge for nearly 2 weeks. Feeling worried but ready.

SW = 15st0
GW = 9st7
First target is 11st10 so I'm 'only' overweight.

I'm turning 40 in summer and want to feel better about myself by then.

I was worried about injecting myself too. The first time I didn't feel it at all, the second time I did feel it but it wasn't bad. I injected both times in my tummy

SilenceInside · 31/01/2025 19:41

I'm not a Feb starter but just dropping in to say that Boots is one of the most expensive pharmacies. Is there a reason that your consultant has suggested them? Otherwise take a look at

monj.co.uk/mounjaro-price-comparison-by-monj/

All the pharmacies on the list are registered and regulated, you can see that many are 60 or 70 pounds or more cheaper than Boots.

WileyCyrus · 31/01/2025 19:52

Hi all,
I have gone with MedExpress and had my prescription approved this afternoon. Hoping to receive my first pen next week so would love to join and share the journey

5ft 5 and about 15st 5lbs

Really hoping it works for me 🤞🏼

I was worried about the injection too (I'm generally completely fine with jabs at the Drs/getting bloods done etc etc but somehow doing it myself seemed a bit more daunting!) but it didn't hurt at all 🙂

I'd second @SilenceInside re the cost of Mounjaro from Boots - I bought mine from Oushk after looking at that discount table and reading up a bit on the different providers and they've been really good so far, great communication and quick approval and delivery etc, and over £100 cheaper than Boots!

Good luck 😊

MJSpideySenses · 31/01/2025 21:47

I've done it! My first one. It was straightforward and painless.

I used MedExpress and happy so far.

I wonder how long it will take to feel anything. How long has it taken others? What was the first thing you noticed?

NikkiReader · 31/01/2025 22:31

Hi everyone, took my first injection today, my heart was pounding in the lead up to doing it (I think it's the fact your injecting yourself) anyhow didn't feel it at all, had to have a closer look to see if it was actually in!

Starting weight 17st 7lbs
Would love to get down to 10 st or lower

I'm also doing weight watchers, started in the new year and have lost 12lbs in the last month so the combination of both I'm hoping to finally lose weight and feel better and live my life again
Holiday booked on 10th April with lots of family and just cannot imagine being the size I am now in front of them in a cozzie 😭. Praying like mad that this works!!!!

Good luck to everyone x

Bluehels · 31/01/2025 22:54

Hello. Thank you for starting a feb starters thread. Ive literally just done my first injection. Im a little worried that I’m going to feel ill in the morning.
Im at a similar start weight to a few you at 104kg. First goal will be 70kg but would love to go further to 60kg as I have weighed that since I was at college!
I’m not going to count calories to begin with, but rather just eat healthy and move more. Hope it works!

Mounjaroday · 31/01/2025 23:03

Yay well done!

I was a total idiot and sank half a pizza this evening. Such a busy work week, had nothing in and caved when the kids asked to order. Trying to console myself that a) that’s all I’ve had today (plus a banana) and b) usually it would have been more like a whole pizza, a couple of glasses of wine, probably a g&t and then some naughty chocolate too.

I will meal plan tomorrow and stock up properly so I don’t get caught out. Bad habits will be broken!

Not craving a big glass of wine is an absolute game changer. Cannot remember the last time I haven’t celebrated the weekend without a Friday night vino.

Mounjaroday · 31/01/2025 23:14

Also, pizza is not sitting well at all. That’ll learn me.

Feel so stupid!
