Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

Good luck everyone!

I am considering starting but still unsure, I’ll be watching from the sidelines and cheering you on!

I have BMI 27 so I’m not sure that this warrants such drastic action (also high cholesterol though) but equally I don’t seem to have any willpower and currently at highest ever weight which isn’t good. I thought I saw a thread referencing this in last few days but can’t find now.

Anyway, good luck all!

@RememberDecember do you mean this thread?

I didn't read much of it as it doesn't apply to me (my BMI is 32 😬) but had a quick scan and the general gist is that mj can still be very helpful to those with lower BMIs, particularly in your case with high cholesterol!

I'm also personally hoping to 'reset' my relationship with food to some extent, stopping my constant snacking/grazing and getting a bit more willpower. So that might be another reason for you to give it a go. Good luck 😊

Keen to hear experiences of any Mounjaro users who had a lowish starting BMI. Obviously this only includes people who have other health concerns. I ha...

My pen has been in the fridge a few weeks.
This week is the week!!!

Starting weight 80kgs
Goal 60kgs

Good luck everyone!!

Same starting weight and target as me! I injected on Friday afternoon as soon as the pen was delivered (impatient haha!) but it still felt really daunting.

What day are you planning to inject on? I haven't had any side effects yet but was glad to have the weekend free just in case I did... hopefully I won't get delayed effects as Mon-Weds are my office days! Best of luck 😊

Hairyfairy01 · 03/02/2025 06:03

Hi all, first injection yesterday. No side effects yet other than a decrease in appetite/ disinterest in food.

5 foot 7
SW 16.7

Would like to get down to 12 stone eventually but focusing on 15 stone initially.

Bluehels · 03/02/2025 07:07

Day 4 and still no difference to my appetite! I’m eating less and better but thats through diet. I guess I will need to go straight up to 5mg after 4weeks. Feeling a bit discouraged 🫤 but I know it effects people differently so I need to be patient.

Same here...day 2. I'm assuming it'll take a few days for the meds to circulate/get to my brain!

FatBottomGirlz · 03/02/2025 08:36

Second injection due today.

Starting weight 14st 2.5lb
Week 1 13st 12lb, lost 4.5lb

Lovethecaketoomuch · 03/02/2025 09:28

I did it, First one, I’ve injected 😊
Just sat here now waiting for a miracle 🤞🏻
Tried to diet January, lost 4 lbs but I’m snacker! Constantly thinking of food. Hoping for this to be gone soon.
Current BMI 36
CW 108kg
Goal 70kg
Good luck everyone starting!

@Feb2025start - that is the thread, thank you! Delving in now.

sc0ttishlass · 03/02/2025 10:25

Random question. Does anyone know if we can still have coffee? I don't have a huge amount but I know in other diets when I've tried to stop coffee my head ache has been hideous. I'd prefer to keep having a couple of cups a day..

Mounjaroday · 03/02/2025 10:54

Ooh I don’t know actually. I always have a couple of cups in the morning. That’s a non negotiable for me!

sc0ttishlass · 03/02/2025 10:59

Me too!! I haven't read that you shouldn't, I'm expecting my pack this week from second nature and I can have a 15 min zoom with them to ask any questions so I'll ask that.

Same, I’m still starving!
Am on W2D4, and have been hungry ever since W1D5, the second jab doesn’t seem to have had an impact at all.

Housewife2010 · 03/02/2025 11:04

I finally ordered last night. Mounjaro on Zava. How long does it usually take to arrive? I've been obsessively checking my account status all morning. The photos were a surprise. I had to weigh last night for the photo after a carb heavy dinner as I didn't want any delays. My weight was 8lbs heavier than my morning weight which I'd input on the form. The full length photos were tricky - trying to do a selfie in the mirror whilst holding my weight written on a piece of paper. After checking the photos, I looked awful & my mirrors need a very good dust! 🤣

Coffee is fine

Mine took a few days, less than a week through MedExpress. Then had to order needles as I didn’t realise I needed to order them separately, so that was a few more days.

Ahhh I'm so nervous, my prescription has been approved and my first pen is being dispatched today for delivery tomorrow!

Where did everyone inject their first dose? Does it hurt? I'm actually pretty tough with pain but I've never injected myself with anything before.

I'm really worried it won't work for me because I eat even when I'm not hungry, it's more habit for me I think 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I've read that the 2.5 dose isn't really supposed to suppress, it's to build you towards higher doses that will suppress appetite.

My GP said that I will probably find that 7.5 is the right dose for me but I need to build up to that.

The needles are absolutely tiny. I got my DH to do the first one. Didn’t even feel it. Good luck!

You don't even feel the needle (the first time I had to check whether it was in). Injecting in thighs, alternating side each week.

Honestly they don’t hurt at all. I’m a real wuss and can’t watch myself get blood tests or have injections. I did the top of my leg, I’ve done it twice now and just did a different leg each week.
you can’t feel it go in I promise.

OvertiredandConfused · 03/02/2025 12:28

No side effects so far. Bit of a headache and dry mouth this morning. Ate a smallish portion of fish pie last evening. Wasn't a struggle but could definitely take it or leave it.
Not interested in food today but I will eat a little at each meal. Want to give myself a few days to settle before I start to worry about making myself eat! I am on other medication that means I can't eat between 1630 and 1930 so a bit anxious about eating late.
I have had my morning coffee at work plus about a litre of water so far.

MyCoralZebra · 03/02/2025 12:36

is anyone with SheMed? Just wondering how long it takes from getting the bloods back to being approved?

had my blood results yesterday so just waiting for approval. Is it likely I’ll have my prescription by Friday?

thank you!

Justtryingthis · 03/02/2025 12:45

Can I join? Started today. Been working up to it for weeks… was pleasantly surprised to see how painless the injection was. Got in a bit of a lather over priming and setting the dose but hopefully I did it right.
MJ set a 4 stone loss for my goal. I’d be ecstatic with 2 stone!
Bit worried about the side effects but nothing ventured and all that…

Yes, the needles I think are 4mm and so so thin! I was nervous too, took a deep breath and did a 321 countdown, honestly didn't feel a thing. I did it in my belly x You'll be fine :-)
