Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

Sorry realised I'm on the old thread. Will pop over to the current one.

BrendaSmall · 21/02/2025 19:15

I’m after some advice please

my last dose will be 29th February, my renewal date for my next pen is 4th March, my next dose will be 7th march.
Anyone else like this?
I have to take it on a Friday due to commitments and I’m worried it’s not going to be here in time, especially as when I had my first pen delivered the courier wouldn’t leave it as no one was home!

You need the new thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight-loss-injections/5276290-mounjaro-feb-2025-starters-thread-2

But I'd just ask your provider, they must deal with this all the time.

SW: 100kg

I was starting to feel cravings this morning but also I didn't eat much yesterday.

Started 27/01, my starting weight was 121.4kg
I’ve started changing habits and trying before I decided to go on Mounjaro so January I was 125kg 😳
Today was my second jab and my weight reduced to 119.6kg! I’m doing light excise, trying to move more and eat when I’m feeling hungyish. I try to drink plenty of water too. No side effects so far. Fingers crossed it continues like this 🤞🏼

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 07/03/2025 07:59

I've took my 2nd 5mg dose yesterday and had a very bad episode of diarrhoea in the night. That's despite moving to a 3.75 dose (which was fine) before going to 5mg.

I need to time my 3rd dose very carefully.

Well first 4 weeks are up today and 12lb down. I took my golden dose this morning which will be my last at 2.5mg. Have bought my next pen at 5mg, not because I don't have good suppression but because the food noise has started to return a bit. Still haven't had a biscuit or any chocolate in the 4 weeks though - just haven't fancied them. Weirdly I have only had 2 cans of diet coke the whole time whereas previously I had one daily with my lunch.

No side effects other than I was permanently cold for the first 2 weeks, and get terrible dry mouth in the night. Having to take natural remedies daily for constipation but I never went frequently even before. Have upped my fibre intake by switching my breakfast to a large bowl of all bran and prunes (although my protein levels have dropped a little because of this so I try and incorporate a getpro yoghurt as they are only 88 calories and 15g protein).

Thisshirtisonfire · 07/03/2025 20:16

I ordered my pen from med express on Feb 14th but for various reasons it only arrived last week and I have just built up the courage to take the first dose this evening!!
I weighed myself before hand and I am 16st 7lbs.
I'm 5ft 7.
So i have around 5 stone to loose!!
I ate healthily and lightly today to try and avoid any side effects.
So let's see how this goes!!

Hello all
starting weight 12.3
CW 11.10
desired 9.10
week 5 day 5

first 4 weeks 2.5
1 week 5

I need help as I’m just not losing. I do the gym every other day. No weights just treadmill, bike and stairmaster to get my steps in as my job is sitting down all day. Burn about 250 calories per session

Calorjes per day are less than 1400. More often than not less than 1000.

why am I not losing weight x. Help needed

mumalummum · 14/03/2025 11:34

I’ve just taken my 6 th dose, and it’s my 6 th weigh in. I started on
7 Feb - 19 st 7lb
today - 6 weeks in 17st 13lb.
Goal - 13 stone
I’m 5ft4 and big boned so whilst it’s still
a high BMI that’s a maintainable weight for me .
i haven’t seen 17 stone anything since before getting long covid in 2022 so I’m really pleased,
mounjaro is helping my ADHD symptoms and I have no desire to drink wine which is great (wine and the wine munchies are the cause of my obesity, along with PCOS ).

It’s obviously been a fast weight loss so I’m sticking at 2.5 mg

mumalummum · 14/03/2025 11:37

I’m also not getting any side effects which is great - not really getting any suppression of appetite either just less desire to eat rubbish , but a massive appetite has never been my problem - my volumes of food are normal it’s the food choices that are the problem - cheese especially

Mounjaroday · 14/03/2025 22:34

@YourAmusedDuck some pp have recommended doing your measurements too as you may well be losing despite what the silly scales say! Hopefully the scales will catch up really soon with all that exercise and calorie deficit!

@mumalummum that’s great!

Come join us on thread 3 though, we’re all on there now xx https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5284885-mounjaro-feb-2025-starters-thread-3

Same for me, 6 weeks in a little suppression at the beginning 2 weeks on 5mg no affect at all. I've lost 5lb and feel that is because at the beginning I was really motivated but now feel I am slipping back into my old snacking ways. I'm wondering if it's worth me ordering again.

Dawnnyy · 20/04/2025 10:09

Haa anyone been accepted for mounjaro while on blood pressure medication

AmythestBangle · 20/04/2025 10:26

@Dawnnyy yes, lots of people have, including me. Hypertension is one of the conditions which potentially improve with weight loss, and I was prescribed MJ with a BMI of 29 because of my hypertension.

Col28 · 18/05/2025 09:16

Good Sunday morning to everyone.
I'm not sure if I've lost the thread I was on mist recently. I hope those I was chatting with see this ( I'm a bit daft with these sites)
I'm having 2nd Mounjaro jab tomorrow. After 1st I was really unwell with explosive diarrhoea & cramps for 3 days so dreading that might happen again & praying 🙏 it doesn't. However, my SW last Minday 12th May was 140.01 I've just weight myself & I am 137.50 🤷‍♀️ I have no clue how to work out my loss & Google just confused me more. If anyone could help this daft old bird I would really appreciate it.
Thank you girls. Colleen.

Yes, I have. It wasn't an issue at all. My GP was very happy to prescribe

Col28 · 21/05/2025 12:22

I've been to my GP several times regarding my weight & huge BMI. She has always said that as soon as GPs are able to prescribe Mounjaro eat she will be happy to do so as I'm am a perfect candidate. So, I am paying Healthexpress for my medication & as a 71 year old pensioner & retired NHS secretary its a bit of a struggle. Does anyone on here actually get prescribed from GPs or is it a Weight Management Clinic?

I've got an NHS prescription via my GP. I was a bit overweight (BMI 27.3)but my HBA1C level was really high.

Edited to say: as far as I can tell, for the NHS to prescribe your HBA1C reading is much more pertinent than your BMI

I think my BMI is well over 30 & I'm 22 stone.
High Cholesterol. Hiatus Hernia, Divaticulitis & Osteoarthritis in both knees plus I'm unable to have knee replacement surgery with NHS until I lose 5 stone.
I will struggle to continue on Mounjaro injections due to finances. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😩
