Just started Mounjaro? Friendly chat and support right here!

My starting weight: 104kg
Would love to lose 30kg over time

Have just started the first dose - no side effects so far. Appetite has disappeared. Cautiously hopeful about the future!

Good luck to anyone else starting their weight-loss journey too. Would love to hear from you!

@RememberDecember I have a BMI of 27 and did my first injection today :)

Would like to get down to 60kg/BMI 21 (I'm tallish)

Have an induction at a gym booked on Wednesday and shitting myself that I'll actually, well, shit myself. Please tell me I'll be ok?!

NursieBernard · 03/02/2025 13:21

Hello!

I did my first injection on Friday, like many others I was worried about side effects but luckily don't seem to have had any as yet.

My cravings for sweet things seems to have disappeared and my hunger seems nonexistent. I keep questioning if it's working, but it clearly is!

Start Weight 86kg
Goal Weight 73kg

Good luck everyone

lancs2025 · 03/02/2025 13:26

Started my first 2.5 on Saturday morning.
I have already lost 9 stone with calorie counting and exercise but simply cant do it anymore without support as I keep binge eating on rubbish.
Still overweight though BMI 30
Hoped that mounjaro would stop the binges
So far it has done. have a fairly strong suppression.
Annoyingly along with it the worst sulphur burps ever. Mild nausea which isn't constant and I can cope with.
How do you know when to increase the dose? Im not keen at the minute due to the burps

mjcosy · 03/02/2025 13:52

Today was my first weekly weigh-in after I started and I gained 0.1kg! To be fair, I have been eating exactly the same as before and I can sense there is no calorie deficit. I have no effects or side-effects, so maybe it will take longer to kick in? I am generally a healthy eater and don't snack, so not sure how it's going to go for me!

Well done to everyone who lost in the first week!

I finally ordered last night. Mounjaro on Zava. How long does it usually take to arrive? I've been obsessively checking my account status all morning. The photos were a surprise. I had to weigh last night for the photo after a carb heavy dinner as I didn't want any delays. My weight was 8lbs heavier than my morning weight which I'd input on the form. The full length photos were tricky - trying to do a selfie in the mirror whilst holding my weight written on a piece of paper. After checking the photos, I looked awful & my mirrors need a very good dust! 🤣

Hi, I did this too last night and also keep checking it to see if they have said yes or no, my BMI is 30 so just on the line, I think I might get rejected :-(

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 03/02/2025 14:12

@RowNine I've already flagged my experience on here which is (apologies for TMI) that 48 hours after my first jab I basically shat myself in a work meeting. Thank God it was online.

All subsequent jabs have been ok. However, when I move up to 5mg I will jab on a Friday and make sure I have a clear weekend in case the higher dose gives me a similar issue.

I think from reading these threads I'm.in a minority though!

itcouldalwaysgetworse · 03/02/2025 14:40

@AnnaQuayInTheUk Oh no, that is my worst fear. Took the first one on Friday night and so far so good.... But will not be trusting a fart for a good few months it would seem

Mithrydene · 03/02/2025 14:40

Hi all. Been reading through these and some of your past threads from september onwards last year. There's come fascinating info included and some good advice / tips. I started on mounjaro 4 weeks ago (2.5ml starter dose, this is my 4th week), I have close to 6 stone to lose but I think I did surprisingly well in the first 3 weeks on this injectable. I lost 9lbs (I am aware a significant % of this might be fluid), and saw a marked reduction in my appetite often finding I had to 'persuade' myself to eat. In my current 4th week, I have found that whilst my appetite is no-where near what it was pre-Mounjaro, I can tell that my body has become used to the drug. I have my next, higher dose, waiting for next Monday. I am trying to stick to protein with veg meals, drinking more fluids and ensuring I get my fruit in. For me the biggest challenge was reducing my bread intake, most days I could eat a good 3rd of a sliced loaf! Since reducing this to 2 slices per day (if I actually use them), I've found my joints feel much better and I feel less 'stodged', so I am really looking forward to reducing my weight sensibly and seeing the benefits to my arthritis. Enjoying reading the comments here. 😀but I've been particularly interested in the comments on the 'bonus' dose and what people are saying about them. I have at least a further dose on my 2.5mg pen which seems wasteful, so am considering the purchase of some needles to drain the correct amount and use it as a 5th dose, so any comments on this would be interesting.

Does anyone have any tips for a good weight tracker apps that you can log your injections into so i can track what dose against weight loss week? Not sure if something exists like this or not?

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 03/02/2025 14:43

Hi all can I join?

I started last Tuesday, so it's weigh in day tomorrow. I haven't weighed myself since I started but I have stuck to a strict diet religiously so I really am hoping for a good loss. I can update my progress tomorrow.

I haven't had too many side effects so far, just the odd bit of queasiness in the mornings on day 2 and 3. I was very nervous about injecting as I am abit of a wuss, but it was fine I didn't even feel it.

Also interested in the bonus dose as this stuff is expensive and I don't want to throw money in the bin!

There is an app called shotsy. You can pay more for premium but I use the basic one and it's fine.

Dozycuntlaters · 03/02/2025 16:15

Hi, can I join this thread please? I'm due dose 2 tonight, lost 3 lbs week 1, I'm happy enough with that.

@partyfoodpickingpiggy I'm going to do the 5th dose too, as it does save a fair bit of money. I've been looking it up on you tube, you can either force the pen or if that doesnt work, you can syringe it out. I got my first pen from MedExpress as I had the £40 discount and then £12.50 with other discounts my computer automatically scanned for. Will hunt around when I need pen 2 to see who is the most competative. I'm presuming that once BMI drops below 30 they will still prescribe if you can show them you're already on it.

Thank you so much. Will have a look at it this evening :)

OntheTrainX · 03/02/2025 16:42

Ordered mine today having weighed in at 14 stone 10 lbs. BMI 32.3.

The pharmacist asked me for another photo and now I’m awaiting approval. I definitely look overweight but maybe I don’t look obese, so I hope they don’t reject me. I’m a tall hourglass so carry weight quite well, it’s deceptive.

At age 52, I am now concerned about my health whereas in the past I cared more about how I looked. I’ve started to feel pressure on my knees when walking downhill, so decided to do something.

I'm at work all week and my partner is coming on Friday, so I plan to jab on Saturday morning.

Ohplesandbanonos · 03/02/2025 17:16

First injection done yesterday - hardly felt it. Felt a bit headache-y yesterday evening. Fine all today and actually don't seem to have much appetite. Went for a brisk walk on my lunch break. Have been drinking green tea and plenty of water and had a protein yoghurt. Have salmon and veg for tea to maintain some balance.

Really hoping this works - found it difficult to lose weight the last few times I've tried.

RememberDecember · 03/02/2025 17:55

Really considering joining, particularly now I have weighed myself and seen just how heavy I now am…

Housewife2010 · 03/02/2025 18:15

@Anastacia44
My order from last night has just been approved by Zava. Has yours?

MountainMama85 · 03/02/2025 18:20

Littlebitpsycho · 03/02/2025 11:52

Ahhh I'm so nervous, my prescription has been approved and my first pen is being dispatched today for delivery tomorrow!

Where did everyone inject their first dose? Does it hurt? I'm actually pretty tough with pain but I've never injected myself with anything before.

I'm really worried it won't work for me because I eat even when I'm not hungry, it's more habit for me I think 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I feel exactly the same. Approved today and arrived Wednesday. I feel so nervous. Not so much about the injection itself but the whole idea of putting something in my body that I’m not sure how I’ll react to.
Good luck!

Go for it. You can try it for a month and if you don't get on with you can stop.

I wish I had done it ages ago, it has definitely given me a new lease of life and I feel so optimistic (one week in so that could change)

I have found this first week easy. I can not believe the difference in my eating habits. I am hoping for a good loss tomorrow.

I used medexpress and they were very quick. They didn't accept my first photo but accepted my second and I have been very happy with the speed of delivery. I got a code off one of the other threads and got £40 off which made it a much better price.
(Here's my code for £40 off incase it's any use to anyone 5QG5M6)
although there are lots of different providers with different offers to choose from.

I'm excited for my weigh in tomorrow. I will report back.

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 03/02/2025 18:46

@MountainMama85 I felt the same. I was worried once it was in me I couldn't take it out again and that did make me feel quite anxious. But I did it, and I'm so happy I did.

CottonCandyLand · 03/02/2025 18:46

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 03/02/2025 12:00

I've read that the 2.5 dose isn't really supposed to suppress, it's to build you towards higher doses that will suppress appetite.

My GP said that I will probably find that 7.5 is the right dose for me but I need to build up to that.

That’s actually really good to know.

RememberDecember · 03/02/2025 18:48

Glad to hear the positivity @partyfoodpickingpiggy !

im not sure what is holding me back, it isn’t really about the cost. I think it is more around whether I’m ‘cheating’ using it, particularly since I don’t have heaps to lose, presumably I could get there if I just got on the healthy bandwagon and did all the things we know we should do but don’t! I can understand it more when people have a really significant amount to lose that may also be impacting their health. Obviously I would benefit from losing a stone or so too though!

The other thing is it feels a bit dodgy ordering medicine that you inject off an unknown company off the internet, but I suppose it is licenced for use and I wouldn’t have that concern if just picking up from pharmacy.

Mounjaroday · 03/02/2025 18:56

I’m day 6 of week 1 now. Appetite is coming back a little I think so hopefully tomorrow’s jab will help. Realise now just how much I thought about food before, and why is it has been so difficult to try and lose weight on willpower alone.

And wine. Would get to 6pm and I’d be dreaming of a glass!

Is anyone else feeling less bloated?
