Fantastic we made it to thread 2!

This is a thread for all those who have started or are about to start the Shemed programme in January.

Those waiting for blood tests /first pens hope you hear soon!
Those on their first/second jab hope it's going well - do come and tell us how it's going.

This is designed as a supportive space to share with each other how it's going, worries, side effects as well celebrating wins and results :)

Hooray @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden
Thank you.

The thirst is real (day one after first jab)!
Feel full on liquid right now!

Bear2014 · 20/01/2025 10:10

Hi there, I've been lurking for a week here, just got approved yesterday and my meds have been dispatched. Feeling nervous but excited. I've got a few stone to lose due to perimenopause, working from home and all the usual factors - I have not had much success on diets in the past as I'm hungry all the time and have no willpower!

Newshoesnewname · 20/01/2025 10:10

Hello, I'm here

Very excited as I've just had the notification that my test has been shipped.

So it's looking like next Friday could be my first jab 😱

SassPot09 · 20/01/2025 10:12

Morning everyone!
Payment taken last night and email this morning to say i have been approved, was going to look at my prescription but app is down.
I must say i am very impressed with the speediness! Only ordered the blood test Thursday just gone!

Hope everyone is feeling ok!
Im so lost on what vitamins i should take, any ideas?

Shmallow · 20/01/2025 10:16

I'm not taking any at the moment although I really should take iron every day anyway. I think I might go for a multivitamin and a separate hair collagen supplement as my hair was already thinner than it used to be and it used to be one of the only things I had going for me 😆 Glowwa is highly recommended, but it does need to be taken for a few months to see the difference.

badgersnakemushroom · 20/01/2025 10:22

I just had a call from SheMed to talk about my IBS. They wanted to check ai had not had any surgery and I was aware digestive issues can be side effects. All good though they approved me and have just taken payment.

Annathomps · 20/01/2025 10:31

Morning everyone, I took my first dose last night - Sunday evening (after receiving my pen Friday). Slept pretty well and feel ok at the moment, I’ve not tried to eat anything yet but water and coffee is going down well! Haha.

I’d be interested in any links to vitamins/collagens that anyone can recommend please?

So far I have to say that my experience with SheMed has been great. I signed up on the 31st Dec and ordered my blood test and received my first prescription on the 17th which I don’t think it bad considering it was the holidays and most people probably had the same idea as me ordering at that time.
My check in calls have all been quick and simple. Loved the little care package of extra meds they provided too in the first box!

Those that had their 1st dose yesterday as well, how are you today? :)

congratulations on your approval, very exciting.

I have been drinking electrolytes every morning to make sure I’m hydrated. As well as taking biotin for hair loss, collagen (apparently can prevent loose skin, just thought it might be useful as a preventative measure but we shall see) and magnesium. I’ve been a bit constipated with it so my friend recommended magnesium which is working really well.

FollyDear · 20/01/2025 10:32

Thanks for creating a new thread @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden! Still anxiously waiting here for approval. Blood results came in late last night so I'm really hoping it won't be long.

Oh good shout on loose skin and magnesium. Shall add those to my shopping basket !

I cannot believe how quick its gone through, just waiting for tracking link!

How you feeling on yours

Mieliwood · 20/01/2025 10:46

I had just posted on the other page but I'll post here too.

Still impatiently waiting for my results (sent Thursday). I'm just eager to get started! Although starting to make better choices with food/drink. I am usually a one meal a day and binge in the evening so have had some breakfast this morning. Going back to fluid intake I had when I was working from the office (1 coffee and 500ml of water and don't get another coffee til I finish the water lol) - the only thing I miss about being in the office is a colleague forcing water down me 😆

Hopefully anyone still waiting will hear back soon and those that are jabbing - i hope you are doing well!

xxCatCrazyxx · 20/01/2025 10:48

Thanks @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden !

I’ve been feeling generally okay since 1s Jab on Thursday. Just feeling very tired so going to bed earlier! I finally told my hubby at the weekend and he took it well. He is very supportive in general but I still found this quite difficult. I don’t think I’ll be telling anyone else but we’ll see.

Looking forward to jabbing again on Thursday!

AuntieOnSheMed · 20/01/2025 10:56

Hi hi
As my username suggests - I’m not a mum but I am an auntie who lives with my nieces so I hope you all don’t mind me hopping on here as a bit of an interloper! I have been reading the first thread obsessively since ordering my blood test. It’s so exciting but also I’m nervous about this new frontier!

I did my sample this morning. The Tasso device was bizarre and I was convinced I wasn’t getting enough out but then it all seemed to work. Stuck the sample in the post box at 9:30 this morning so hopefully it will turn around in two days

BruhWhy · 20/01/2025 11:07

The app was down for a little while, but I've just been able to view my results. All within healthy ranges apart from high cholesterol 🫣

Interestingly, healthy but on the low end for thyroid function. Wonder what that's meant for me?

Hoping to be approved today 🤞🏻

CleverKhakiBear · 20/01/2025 11:18

Morning all thank you @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden for the new thread ❤️

I am on D2 post jab as so far so good, I am able to eat but not stuff myself to the point where I am in a food coma.

Placebo effect or not it's working for me lol, at one point last night I didn't start to feel hungry and DH offered to get a late night takeaway which I would accepted normally but I declined and told him to get one for himself which is a NSV for me tbh.

Ended the night with a cuppa and only 2 biscuits (I'd have had atleast 10 or more normally)

Onto supplements, I have preordered the wellgard my journey tablets supposed to be good whilst on mj to help with side affects as well as vitamins I believe. Also from the same brand I have got their rise ready probiotics, magnesium glycinate, and their collagen powder which has 11g protein per serving!

ForPeachSake · 20/01/2025 11:26

Morning all day one had breakfast at gone 10 as I wasn't hungry and I was so full! A few cramps so far but not sure if that's eating when I should have stopped I only had an apple and a yoghurt. Rather cold but not sure if that's my office being cold or the injection but so far so good! Hope everyone else is okay.

TheGladLilacDuck · 20/01/2025 11:56

After royal mail being useless last week (tracking hadn't updated so thought they had lost my bloods) i had an email this morning to say my results are ready! I can't view them in the app though, there doesn't seem to be an option for them... unless I am missing something.

Hopefully I will be approved today so I can start ASAP, I've been really anxious the past week because of the wait!

I'm not too worried about the bloods as I had a full blood count/tests not too long ago by the GP.

Lovely seeing everyone starting their journey! My sister has also started mounjaro last week and hasn't experienced any side effects but is loving the lack of food noise.

TLMoo · 20/01/2025 12:21

Thank you @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden for sorting this thread!! Xxx

OneAzureMaker · 20/01/2025 12:51

Oooh! I've found the new thread! Today has been the first day I've resorted to the pack of meds they sent, imodium very much needed, and horrendous sulphurous burps!

bluesmartie83 · 20/01/2025 12:51

I'm glad that everyone is having positive experiences with SheMed. This makes me feel relieved I had made a good choice of provider. I received my results this morning and waiting for the next step to see if I'm approved. I have been taking collagen (ancient&brave true collagen) since March last year and can honestly say my hair, skin and nails are in the best condition they've been for a while! Will look into a multivitamin and magnesium to support my journey too.

bigboykitty · 20/01/2025 12:54

Also impressed with SheMed so far. Had my first jab on Saturday. Feeling a bit rough, but nothing too serious

Shmallow · 20/01/2025 13:13

oh it's good to hear a review of people who have been on collagen for a while. I definitely think I'll get onto it.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 20/01/2025 13:22

I think I have decided its too much to reply to everyone individually now! There's too many of us - a lovely "problem" to have though as we are a fab community already aren't we :)

@OneAzureMaker Eek for needing the goody bag but I guess its good it was on hand. I hope its sorting it and its just early days. The lady that rang me from shemed did say gastro issues were so common but usually settled down...

I am in my second week and just made myself lunch as I realised I was hungry. I am now realising what people mean when they talk about responding to hunger cues. I tried intuitive eating for a while and it was quite franky a disaster... but when my head cravings are turned off I was able to notice that empty stomach feeling that just needed feeding. Also was able to put some bits together instead of "Must Eat Now". I'm waiting for adhd assessment and I'm sure its linked...

I am absolutely exhausted though. And still a bit nauseous. I'm anxious about jobs at the moment so lots going on. I'd like to be able to potter online from home!!

Hope everyone is going okay today - do keep us updated!
