FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 20/01/2025 10:00

Fantastic we made it to thread 2!

This is a thread for all those who have started or are about to start the Shemed programme in January.

Those waiting for blood tests /first pens hope you hear soon!
Those on their first/second jab hope it's going well - do come and tell us how it's going.

This is designed as a supportive space to share with each other how it's going, worries, side effects as well celebrating wins and results :)

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden that will be great thank you.

Earthgirl3971 · 20/01/2025 17:52

We are on the same schedule exactly!
I love your tag name by the way, very cool.

Hope we both get accepted tomorrow! 😁🍀🙏

Thanks! And yes it does look we are on the same path! We can be Jan buddies

BruhWhy · 20/01/2025 19:05

From what I've read the 2.5mg pen is supposed to be "sub-therapuetic". Mounjaro recommend that after 4 weeks the 5mg pen is prescribed.

I wonder if we'll get to hold the reins on that?

I think I'm the same as you two. Bloods back today?

When are you planning to jab? I was thinking Friday evenings to mitigate any... bathroom related side effects so I don't miss any time off work/uni.

So hopefully it gets prescribed and sent out before the end of the week!

MelodicStarfall · 20/01/2025 19:12

Im planning on doing it the same evening I get it. I'll obsess all week over it otherwise

CleverKhakiBear · 20/01/2025 19:18

Lovely seeing all your experiences so far! I thought I got away safely without any side effects but I spoke too soon. I have spent this evening feeling lightheaded, perhaps not eating enough calories. I'm definitely drinking enough so hopefully it passes x

Mazd323 · 20/01/2025 19:19

@CleverKhakiBear how long have you been on it?

@CleverKhakiBear how long have you been on it?

I jabbed on Saturday and spent yesterday alright x

MelodicStarfall · 20/01/2025 19:34

Does anyone know how long it takes from lab results to approval?

OneAzureMaker · 20/01/2025 19:44

I took jab 2 on Friday morning. Today today has been the worst day ever for side effects. I'm feeling so, so cold and diarrhoea all day. Hoping for a better day tomorrow!

Hope you’re feeling better soon - I had similar in week one and was ready to give up but it passed in a couple of days - Dioralyte was really helpful - I was dreading week two but have had no side effects so far. 🤞
This week I’m keeping a food diary just in case it’s something I ate that disagreed with the MJ.

Glad you've had a better week. I wasn't too bad week 1, I felt a bit 'off' but nothing more than that.

Needtomust96 · 20/01/2025 20:46

Hi everyone! So mine came this morning and weighed and jabbed. Very simple, pretty much painless. No symptoms as of yet. Interested to see how others get on re dose increases.

Yay! Have you been approved yet. I'm refreshing my app like a maniac. Think it might be tomorrow now

Earthgirl3971 · 20/01/2025 20:54

No approval or prescription yet.

I think the clinician's only work 9 to 5 so maybe nothing until the morning now. They will want to get us processed as quick as possible and issue the prescription so it won't take much longer.. ☺️

I've decided I'm going to take mine the day it arrives and at night before bed, after my shower. That way I'll be relaxed and sleep off any/ most side effects. What are your plans?

Shmallow · 20/01/2025 21:16

@kittykarate I asked Shemed about holidays. You can log the jab manually and weigh in when you get back but for simplicity you do need access to scales really. We're abroad at half term and I'm planning on taking some travel scales (I think they're only marginally smaller than normal ones tho!). It would be tricky if a bit off grid or something though!

TheGladLilacDuck · 20/01/2025 21:35

Just had my prescription approved! So took just under 12 hours after having my blood test results sent for review!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 20/01/2025 21:56

Yay@TheGladLilacDuck you're finally in!!

Its so lovely to have a bunch of us who started together at a similar time ❤️.

Just saying hiya. I did my first jab on Saturday. A few side effects, nothing major, but so cold yesterday and today. I didn't use the app to do the injection. Is there a way to log it manually on the app without the whole camera/microphone business? I just used the paper instructions. Good luck to all of you starter buddies!

Same, take it as late as possible. Try not to each too much during the day and hope for minimal side effects.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 20/01/2025 23:23

Side effects..
When is the peak time after jab for side effects or does it more depend what you eat?

@OneAzureMaker so sorry you had bad effects. Horrid that is so many day post jab too! Were you ok week 1?

I injected last night (1st dose) and symptom such as a little nausea, bloated and very tired were not too bad but built through day.
Expected worst would be first 24-48 hours but does t sound the case for you @OneAzureMaker

PurpleClare50 · 21/01/2025 06:06

Hi everyone,
Pen arriving today 😬
Does it generally seem that if you are susceptible to diarrhoea in every day life the jab brings that on and like wise being constipated? I very rarely suffer with diarrhoea even if Ive eaten dodgy food so hoping it just stuffs me up more than usual. My bowels are terribly slow at the best of times so really don't know how to handle the other 🫣
Just hoping if I bite the bullet this evening I will be ok at work for the rest of the week. I run a huge warehouse and my office is at the other end to the loos. Could be fun...

Yay for first jab!

I think you might need to contact them about that.

Part of the contract to get the £99 offer is the weekly check in on the day of the jab so they have evidence of weight. It really only takes a minute or two. I can't remember off hand but I think in the T and C its something like attending af least 3 out of every 4 check ins.
