W4D1, just did my weigh in...

1.2kg lost this week (2.6lb)
6.5kg since I signed up on 29 Jan (lost a bit before my first jab).

My first stone gone! Over the moon and very motivated 😊

I hope you all have a great Friday x

Forgot to add...

SW 79kg
CW 72.5kg

Next milestone under 70kg!

TLMoo · 21/02/2025 09:07

Morning all! Can anyone who has experienced vomiting please reassure me! I'm on my second week of 5mg and I've not had a single side effect so far but yesterday I was vomiting all day. Couldn't eat a thing. My daughter and partner are both absolutely fine so it's unlikely it's a bug!! I'm going to spend the next 4 days dreading my next jab because that was absolutely awful! I've weighed myself this morning and I'm 4lb down in 24 hours 😂 never thought that would be something I would be concerned about but here we are!

Needtomust96 · 21/02/2025 09:07

Suffering badly with gastro effects since 5mg. No nausea or vomiting. Just the other effect. Any positive stories of this? Really hoping it goes away, unsure how long I can take imodium for.

Bigknickers56 · 21/02/2025 09:14

Well done on all the losses! I have just done my weigh in and I have lost a total of 5kg or 11lb in the 4 weeks. Though I am a bit jealous of those who lost that in week , I am actually very happy that this is the only diet I have ever been on where I not constantly hungry and thinking about food all the time.
Best of all is going just under 15st into the 14s!!! 🥳
Moving up to 5mg today so let's hope it goes well 🙏

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 21/02/2025 09:56

Morning! Check in day for me. Weighed in at less than a pound difference and am a bit disappointed as I've had so much nausea that I've not eaten much and been really good at prioritising protein etc. I've been away from home so thought I'd at least come back to a weight loss...

In my head I know it fluctuates and evens out and isn't linear. But in my heart I think after such a difficult week I'd hoped!!

I've ordered my next pen and asked to stay the same due to the string side effects and now hoping that's the right choice! I think my eating has been good so it's "working" I am hoping it is just fluctuations.

Will jab after work.

@bluesmartie83 I hope the nausea stays mild! Wahooooooo just seen the jumper update! Have a fab Friday 😁.

@afromom I think I read 1 in 5 get the nausea so hope that for most people here it's not too bad! I'll take one for the team 😂.

@BruhWhy and @JBJ good luck on 5!!

@bertieallsort snack pots are a great idea. I think I'll do that with nuts as I want to eat more and I'm lazy it would be great to have them ready.

@ForPeachSake wahooo for first stone and hope you feel better soon.

@SnowieBear yay! I love seeing all these "first stone" posts. It's so great to see we're really on this journey now.

@Brighton2019 I can so relate to the disappointment - especially when we see some people's early huge losses! But 6lb over 2 weeks is fab and if you sustained a 3lb a week loss that would be an incredible amount over the year!! I think I'm averaging 2lb and that's still 100lb over the year.

Hi all. Hope everything is good. I'm a little behind on the thread so need to go back and catch up, but it's weigh in day for me.

I've not had the best week food wise and am 551 calories over my weekly target (I don't really worry about daily calories as for instance yesterday I was 600 under, but I've been waaay over on other days🙈).

I wasn't expecting anything notable so when I stepped on the scales I thought they broken. I've somehow managed to loose 8 lb this week💪.

It takes my total loss up to 1 st. I'll have to pay attention now as I don't want to loose more than 2 lb per week average and I'm up to 5 mg next jab. Having said that though, I can't deny doing a little happy dance 😄.

W4 D1
SW 19 st 11 BMI 47.5
CW 18 st 11 BMI 45.1
Mini GW 17 st 13 by my holiday in May
Final GW BMI under 30

Have a good week all xx

Bananaramram · 21/02/2025 10:38

Jab number six today! 1.3kg down so 9.6kg / 21 pounds since 1 Jan.

I’m trying to push my calories a bit higher but really struggling! Usual mild constipation this week but I also had serious fatigue for two days (another reason I want to up calories). Really just wanted to sleep! Better today though.

Earthgirl3971 · 21/02/2025 10:53

Week 4 day 2

Hmm have a really sore throat and cold symptoms. I think this is my reaction to the medication you know.. I remember feeling like this on 2.5 mg at the start. I haven't had any other bad symptoms but the food suppression is good right now.

I have incorporated Zumba now as exercise and it's really good, I highly recommend as it can have as low an impact as needed. My heart rate got high aswell, I'm glad I set my watch before I started.

Next week some weights maybe? And start toning my lesser tummy.

X

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 21/02/2025 11:09

@TLMoo I was v nauseas to the extent I needed to lie down but not actual vomiting so i don't know. I remember reading 1 in 10 get vomiting while they adjust. Is it worth filling out a side effects thing? It sounds horrible. My second 5mg jab was worse than my first and taking my third today and a bit nervous!! Good luck hope it calms down soon x.

@Needtomust96 similarly I've had the odd D but not repeated. Is it worth contacting them if the drugs aren't controlling it.

So sorry to hear all the side effects. What a bunch we are! Hopefully this is the biggest hump as we are doubling our dose 2.5 to 5 and hoping our bodies adjust.

@Bigknickers56 yay for your loss and the next dose!!

@Newshoesnewname wow that's amazing!!!! And the reverse of what I've done this week 😂. It just goes to show it's not linear/predictable. Good luck for the next jab!

@Bananaramram wow amazing loss! Hope the fatigue eases. It's a hard balance isn't it.

Good luck everyone for the week ahead xx

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden thank you! I have filled out the side effect form but said I don't need a call as I feel absolutely fine today 😂 interesting your second has been worse than your first 5mg too! I really needed to lie down but my partner was at work so I was solo parenting and I wonder if I had actually had the opportunity to lie down i may not have been so poorly! 😷

I ordered my next pen on Wednesday, I also said I'd be happy to stay the same. I struggle to eat the first few days on 5mg so I really don't need to go up. They've taken the next £99 but not confirmed the prescription yet.

SnowieBear · 21/02/2025 12:46

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden I do so hope your third 5mg dose is kinder on you! Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

tinyemmy · 21/02/2025 17:39

Prescription approved, I've got another 5mg coming 🙌

Mazd323 · 21/02/2025 20:14

@tinyemmy did you ask to stay on 5mg?

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 21/02/2025 21:17

Yay Tinyemmy! I filled in the form this morning but I guess it will be a couple of days? Last Month I heard the same day and then it arrived fairly promptly!

BruhWhy · 21/02/2025 22:28

I can't believe how quickly this thread has progressed and how much collective weight we've all lost. Incredible!

The 5mg nausea is just awful. I haven't had to resort to peppermint tea (I hate it) but I may have to tomorrow.

@Earthgirl3971 I also keep getting a dry sore throat. Feels like I'm about to come down with a nasty cold, especially when I wake up. That coupled with nausea and a headache mean I feel really shitty. Hoping it passes as we get used to the new dose 🙏🏻

tinyemmy · 21/02/2025 23:26

Mazd323 · 21/02/2025 20:14

@tinyemmy did you ask to stay on 5mg?

I put in the comments that I would be happy to stay on 5mg. I think it's the right thing for me as the suppression at the start of the week is so high I can barely eat. I've been quite unwell and I wonder if not eating enough is prolonging it, but I'm very happy with the weight loss!!

tinyemmy · 21/02/2025 23:27

Yes I filled in the form on Wednesday and payment came out this morning and I found out this afternoon/evening that I was staying on 5 which I'm pleased about.

Lostatsea10 · 22/02/2025 06:29

Morning all, some great losses for people well done. Sorry to hear of those suffering from side effects.

has anyone contemplated giving up because of any? For 3 days after taking it, I can’t eat, have such horrendous trapped wind and bloating and it’s so painful. I was awake between 12.30 to 4 in the night last night because of the pain of the wind. It’s also caused me to have the most horrendous period I’ve ever had which, considering I’m on the mini pill and don’t have them.

I’m not sure at the minute if I can bear the side effects any more.

Seems a small thing but are you drinking the herbal teas that they recommend in the leaflet to help with the tummy symptoms ?

I picked up some mint and ginger herbal tea from Aldi and it is the difference between feeling well or not for me sometimes. But always tips me back into balance.

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly. My periods have always been a bit crappy like that and painful so I have a prescription of mefenamic acid from the doctor which really helps lighten and with the pain.

Humptyandhambel · 22/02/2025 13:19

Hey xx Finding this thread so informative and reassuring ❤️ I’m week 5 day 1, I did first 5mg done last night instead of this morning as I was worried about side effects woke with a cracking headache but that’s all to report so far. I’ve had a steady 2lb loss each week - nothing dramatic. I lost 8lb in between signing up & the first jab,
sw 14st 12,
cw 13st 10
I don’t post very often but really appreciate you sharing your story x

OneAzureMaker · 22/02/2025 13:47

Well done everyone for keeping on keeping on!

Yesterday was my 3rd 5mg. A total of 11.5kg, 25lbs lost. BMI down from 44.1 to 40.8

I have requested to stay at 5mg, so we shall see what they say. Side effects more manageable this week, though still 3 nights awake with discomfort, belching and heartburn.

I would dearly love to start some exercise, but I haven't felt well enough since starting MJ, so hopefully things will settle down a bit.

Lostatsea10 · 22/02/2025 18:47

Does anyone inject in the thigh? I’m going to have to give up otherwise, I can’t tolerate the side effects or the pain it’s causing. But did read that in the thigh has less gastric effects. Just wondering if that’s been anyone’s experience?

I've always jabbed in my thigh and haven't had any major side effects, it's always worth a try?

I hope you do manage to find a way to continue on your journey.

I guess it's hard to tell, as for each individual they respond differently, and personally, I've found side effects are different each week.

I'm not sure how a subcutaneous injection can have different side effects in different places as it will always have a relatively slow effect as it goes into the blood stream.

I can understand wanting to reduce side effects though!!
