Evening guests & wedding gifts?

Me & dp have been invited to the evening reception of dp's friend & on the bottom of the invite it says that there is no gift list but would like contributions to their honeymoon.
Would normally just put a voucher in with the card anyway but was wondering if it was normal to ask your evening guests for gifts/money?
Never had this on an invite before & thought it was just the guests who were going to the ceremony who got the gift list things?
WWYD?

I'd give a little something because they've paid for venue/food/lots of wine for the evening party - same sort of thing as going to a friend's house for dinner and taking a bottle of wine. I wouldn't give much though.

I don't get evening invites. I find that incredibly rude.

I'd decline the entire thing and send along a car.

I think it's cheeky as hell to ask for money, too.

A car, expat?
Really?
Or would you like one of these?

To be honest expat, with 3 dcs under 2 I'm glad we've not been invited to the whole day, we've been to 2 weddings so far this year and its so stressful. At least this way just me & dp are going and I get to have a glass of wine .
Have to say I thought it was a bit cheeky too though, I will probably get a voucher rather than cash - they won't open the card until after the honeymoon so it won't be like they can pick up a keepsake while away and say "oh that can be from capello & dp" iyswim?

thingone!

it's not the done thing to ask evening guests for a present.

i think a voucher will be fine.

I'd go with the voucher if I were you.
