Getting in married in 8 weeks' time (yipee!!!). I would really like to get DP a little something, but can't think of anything very original. We're heading straight to London after the wedding, so I have planned to take champagne, choc gingers (his favourite sweets) and a playlist of some of his favourite music on my mp3 player. But I would really like to get him something special, as a memento. He's definitely not into cufflinks/jewellery. Does anyone have any bright ideas please? TIA.

PS Did I mention how excited I am?????!!!!!

A framed print that has been personalised?

I'll keep thinking.

Oh, and many congratulations in advance.

Something like this?

Valpollicella · 06/04/2010 23:30

A copy of the paper from the day you were born, and the day he was born? Together with a copy of the same paper from the day of your wedding?

I made my DP a photo album of our life so far together. I dug out a load of old photos, and got some baby photos, I included a load of soppy cards and letter's we'd written and made a little 'story so far'. I've since added to it with baby scans and things from the kids.

Also bought him very posh pants and socks - to make sure he had clean ones on the day

I gave my dh a gold pocket watch. An antique watch would be very cool gift, depends on the man though.
Bet you are excited!

A GPS?
Satellite radio for house and home?
Tickets for concert or event he'd enjoy?

I got DH sheet music of our first dance, signed by the band and framed. Not very expensive but he loved it.

Coupons for little nice things that he'd enjoy, that do not cost anything like, nights out with the boys, full body massage (by you of course) stuff like that?

gtamom · 06/08/2010 07:53

Oh I like that Pauline!

eBay is good for things like that as is 991.com
For lovely gifts try Not on the high street

I bought DH an Acer tree in a huge pot - it has moved with us and grown as our family has.

I have bought my H2B one of those family name meanings signs, so it has our married name on it, the family crest and the meaning/orgin of the name. I have also got hime a silver love heart as he loves shiny silver hence our wedding colours our white and silver, I managed to find a site that sells them but you can have them personalised on the back, so have put our names and wedding date on the back.
