We would like to get married somewhere in or around London but we will be a very small wedding party of an absolute maximum of 30 people - does anyonone have any ideas I have no clue where to start to be honest?

The Rangers House in Greenwich is beautiful and has quite a small capacity. Same goes for the Fan Museum (also in Greenwich).

Thanks for those am going to google. Would also consider a wedding venue an hour outside London but it would need to have accomodation also..hmm this is perhaps why I have delayed the wedding for years - lol

I don't think you can have the wedding there but The Sam Pepys is a fab venue for the celebration afterwards. Great views, lovely room and really good food.

Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park is also a nice place for a wedding.

There's a website, think it's called hitched.co.uk or something, that has lists of wedding venues. Alternatively, if you're looking for civil ceremony venues, a list should be published on the council website for the areas you're looking at - so if you've got preferred locations, check out the lists on the council website of approved venues. That's how I found my venue - I hadn't previously been aware that they did civil ceremonies. Good luck

Kew Gardens

(need a blissed-out icon...it was lovely)

Le Gothique, wandsworth common is quirky and gorgeous.
might be minimum 50 though for reception.
They have a website.

Oh yes have heard good things about Le Gothique.

Both Marylebone Registry Office and Chelsea Town Hall have nice rooms and a rock star heritage if you're into that.

Another great venue is Wapping Food (The Wapping Project). We would have liked to get married there but they didn't do weddings at the time. I have heard that they do do them now (Kate Moss was rumoured to be getting wed there at one point).

The other place potentially looking at is Bethnal Green Town Hall & Apartments which is a new hotel in the old BG Town Hall. We went to the soft launch of the restaurant recently and it looks like it's going to be pretty nice plus the food is absolutely amazing (chef is ex-El Bulli).

Syon House is another fab venue.

Registry office ceremony followed by reception on a boat on the Thames? You could have taxis to ferry guests from ceremony to river.

Have you thought about a boat on the river.

I second the Kew Gardens (Cambridge Cottage)suggestion: it is really lovely. Or, registry office followed by private room at restaurant? eg Chelsea Reg Office followed by Bluebird, just down the King's Road. There are loads of great places- Google London private dining'.
