Speeches - are you making one?

Any bride planning this/did this at your wedding? I'd like to say something, but do not want the pressure of a big speech (like I don't have enough to worry about!)
Wondering what others did..

Yes, I'm planning to give a speech.

Its just a personal thing to say thank you to our families and friends, and tell them how important they are to us.

I reckon it'll be 4 minutes, if there's no heckling

I didn't but have been to several weddings where the bride did give a speech. And the chief bridesmaid.

Just for god's sake keep it short .

It seems like a time to be slushy which I'm not very good at - will probably say something very sarcastic which only the northern irish contingent will find funny..
