My mother-in-law in getting married in September to her partner of 5 years. We love them dearly and want to get a lovely gift from us and 2 small children.

Her and her partner each own big, beautiful houses and do not need anything at all. They are selling a house, extending the other and buying a new “weekend” flat. We have hardly any spare cash because of the life stage. Anything monetary (I.e. vouchers) would seem silly from both of our perspectives, because of these circumstances. She has generously helped us out through house move/having babies etc and we are so grateful.

We want to show that we love and celebrate their marriage but are finding it hard to think of ideas! Any inspiration?

A rose for the garden? They’re usually named so you can pick something wedding related.

Would she like a photo book/professional video type thing? Mini-break, planned to include personalised touches, like scavenger hunt through a town special to them?

A rose is a good idea, or a tree. Plus a card saying all the lovely stuff you have said above.
