I got in contact with a catering company to provide food at my wedding a few months ago, we get married in 6 weeks. He was keen to provide his services, once I’d gotten a quote and was happy with it he then asked me what menu we’d like as there was options and then said to get in touch with final numbers about 6 weeks before which will be this week. Everyone else I have booked (photographer, dj, MUA, hair, venue) have asked me to pay a deposit and sign some sort of agreement (besides hair/mua) but I’ve definitely paid deposits for all.
i did ask the catering company what he needs from me to secure the date, he just said he’ll send me an invoice a few days before which needs to be paid either before or a few days after the wedding.
should I be concerned? This means he technically doesn’t have to turn up but he hasn’t taken any money so I’m happy to pay after to make sure but then again.. I don’t want no catering on the day! It’s midweek, not a weekend so that could be why? He doesn’t seem dodge, he has social media and good reviews.
also my MUA has taken deposit but hasn’t asked what times she’s needed for or what time the ceremony is. Unless she’s booked the whole day out I’d have thought she may have asked what time she needs to be at the venue?? She’s very busy judging by her social media so maybe I’m just overthinking it. Any thoughts? X
