Panicking and desperately need advice

I am in desperate need of advice for my hair and makeup situation. I contacted someone back in feb and paid the deposit for the booking. 6 weeks before the wedding date was when the remaining balance was due. So I emailed her 6 weeks before to ask if she’d like me to sent over the balance. She replied to say it’s fine I can just pay in June (we get married on the 20th). 1st of June I emailed to ask if she’d like me to send over the balance now. She replied yes, so I emailed back to ask if she could just confirm the amount so I send the correct amount over. I didn’t hear back for 2 days, so I emailed her again on the 3rd to say I was just following up from my previous email and if she could just let me know the balance please. I still haven’t heard back. I sent a text this morning saying I’ve been trying to reach out through email and was getting abit worried. At the same time, my mum went into detective mode and whatsapped her to enquire about having a trial for some hair and makeup on the morning of my wedding. She has whatsapped my mum back asking about dates, but my text is still left unread. I’m 2 weeks away from my wedding and say crying because I don’t know what to do.

If you have her phone number, just call her?

I’ve tried, it went straight to voicemail

I'd start thinking about backup options.

call her from your mum’s phone…

I’d start calling around alternatives to find someone who’s free, just in case

Yes, find another option. Someone with recommendations if possible. Ask friends or maybe look on here?

OriginalSkang · 05/06/2026 13:00

I would look for someone else

Do your own hair and makeup. Save some money.

Have you checked her social media pages, see how far back they go, reviews etc?

Unfortunately I would work on making other arrangements for your wedding day, but also focus on getting your money back.

Luckily I’ve only paid £50 deposit. Her social media page goes back far, she’s got really good reviews on hitched aswell

Update: Okay so I’ve managed to find a backup. She’s pencilled me in whilst I try to figure out what’s going on. My plan was to message her again (still going to voicemail) to explain that if I don’t hear anything by tomorrow afternoon I’ll have to unfortunately look elsewhere as I haven’t had any replies. In the terms it says if I cancel, I owe her the remaining balance. Idk what to do

Send that message and then book the other person tomorrow. Wait for her to chase for the balance but can't see it coming to much.

This is what I’ve sent: Hi. I am very concerned that after 2 previous emails, 1 text message and two calls that went to answer phone. You have not yet made contact regarding my bridal appointment on the 20th June. Only 15 days away. I am attempting to confirm the outstanding balance before I transfer my payment. I am quickly losing confidence that I can rely on you to provide my bridal package. Please get in touch by the end of the day. If I do not hear from you, I will have no option but to find another stylist.
