Hello, does anyone know of a UK registry office that allows witness to be 16 years old? Preferably near London or Hertfordshire. We’d love our son to be one of witnesses as we’re hoping to just have a wedding with our 3 children and my mum. We don’t want a big fancy affair. We’ve been together for 26 years and are just doing it so we secure one of us against the death tax. We’ve had a few friends at 50 pass away recently and it’s made us think we need to sort out finances out to ensure one of us isn’t left in a difficult situation.

I found these by googling "registry office witnesses requirement age -ai" (-ai is because Google's AI makes things up, so this stops the AI summary appearing).

I'm sure there will be more if you look on the websites of local councils.

All of them should as it is fine for witnesses to be 16yo.
