Wedding elopement ideas

Me and my partner have been engaged 2 years now and are wanting to get married, however we’re now considering eloping just the two of us due to the our family dynamic. My parents have split so there’s no way they can both come and there is just tension in the family all round.

i was excited to plan the big dream wedding but looking at it at now id rather spend money on me and my partner to get married and maybe have a honeymoon.

i want our wedding day to be special still so can anyone recommend some nice places to elope to? Nothing with too extortionate prices though.

Just find your nicest local registry office and then the restaurant you live nearest that. A few friends at witnesses is an option. Then spend on your honeymoon.

Or are you looking for some sort weekend away inclusive package at a posh hotel type thing?

Yes. We went to New York. You need register at least 48hrs before at the county hall. Then you turn up in the day, take a ticket and wait. We used a photographer from the street outside to double up as a witness for a small payment. We had considered asking somebody from our hotel but didn’t need to as there were people ready and waiting!

after you need to get an extra piece of paperwork verified in a different office which can take a bit of time so plan in an extra day to cover for this.

We went to Copenhagen. It is really straightforward to do the legalities and the town hall is beautiful

it was magical, loved every moment.

This was my dream and I had my heart set on NYC. My friend did it recently, got married in City Hall, hired a fabulous photographer for an hour or two and got the most amazing photos, then heading out for dinner and cocktails just the 2 of them. It looked and sounded like a fabulous day!

We did this! Wonder if it was the same photographer?
