Witness plea! Kendall Town Hall - 21st October

The prospect of a secret & low stress elopement wedding has been amazing, apart from the worry of sourcing witnesses! We have found one (the florist), but I would love to have the second one sorted that so we don’t have the anxiety of finding one on the day. I have visions of me walking the streets in the rain 😭.

We are getting married at Kendal Town Hall at 1.30pm on Tuesday the 21st October. It will be me, my partner and our 7 year old daughter (even she doesn’t know about it yet!). We aren’t local and no one knows about it.

If anyone is local to Kendal (or works in the Town Hall) and would feel able to give their time to getting our special day “over the line” I’d be eternally grateful.

We would ask our hotel but it is slightly too far away on Windermere.

I promise I will return the karma to the universe somehow - I know this is a big ask ⭐️

Have you asked your florist whether they could bring anyone with them to be the second witness?. We paid for a photographer, and then cheekily asked if she knew anyone. In the end she brought her just turned 18 step daughter in return for £50 cash! It worked for us, as like you it was just us and our children, and as we got married during Covid we couldn’t grab people off the street anyway as everyone had to be signed in, in advance, plus I couldn’t of coped with the stress of finding someone on the day.

I already feel like i‘m pushing my luck with the florist, but if I can’t find anyone else then I will ask if she can bring someone. I’d be happy to pay!

Ask the florist if she knows a photographer 📸 get some photos of your special day.

You can’t post on there anonymously unfortunately, so it feels a bit risky

We’ve decided we don’t want a photographer - we really are keeping it very simple, we’ve executed the whole plan in 6 weeks

A lovely soul has responded directly and has offered to do this for us! I couldn’t be more delighted! Thanks all.

I’d be delighted to be backup if the first volunteer can’t make it.
