Rings - silver or gold?

Hi all
I know it’s very much personal choice, but I don’t personally like gold jewellery. Is it ok to buy a silver wedding ring or is gold the standard?
And for DP - should he have gold or is silver ok? Does it matter if we have one of each?

You both have exactly what you want! It’s your marriage and your symbol of your marriage. I wear a plain gold band, my dh didn’t want a ring-his choice.

If it’s yellow gold you don’t like, in terms of longevity, would platinum be an option? I just always think silver isn’t as robust as gold. I’m deliberately not saying white gold as that will need replated periodically

I was about to ask if you can afford platinum.

I wear a beautiful engagement ring that is silver and lab made diamond. It didn't cost the earth, and I don't care. I adore it. If you prefer silver, wear silver. I know I do.
