So my partner and I have just found out we are having a baby, our plan had always been to get married before having a baby so we are keen to get married before babies arrival.

We would love to plan a very intimate wedding with maybe 4-8 guests. Looking for venue ideas either UK or abroad with price.

thank you!

Congratulations on your PG OP.

Personally I wouldn’t expect guests to go abroad if you’re wanting to get married before baby arrives unless you’re paying, even then you may find that some of your guests won’t be able to get annual leave.

Whereabouts are you? There are so many wedding venues now. We went to a lovely one at London Zoo.

Book a local registry office and treat your 8 guests to lunch in a nice restaurant or in your garden. Lots of interesting buildings are licensed for weddings now.

That’s a very good point thank you!
I think if we were doing it abroad we may just got with 2 friends.

We’re in the south west, Plymouth

I’ve always had a yen to get married at the Marylebone Register Office because I will never stop seeing London as cool. I’d marry dp there at one of their small rooms, then get two black cabs with our guests to a sprauncey restaurant for lunch.

Oh you are spoilt for choice! Get married at the registry office, photos on the Hoe and a lovely meal at Fletchers, the Fig Tree or Acleaf at Boringdon Hall ( possibly stay there overnight and have a spa day the next day?) or if you want to go further afield you can have a small wedding at the Horn of Plenty or Lewtrenchard Manor has just opened again. Congratulations on your baby and nuptials!

How about getting married here in Looe?

We saw a wedding happening at Hotel Tresanton on a summer’s day. Small and exceptionally chic.

PS we wed at Marylebone old Town Hall followed by afternoon tea in the Palm Court at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane. Low key and lovely.

I got married just outside Florence with my now husband & teenage son. The company we used to "plan" the wedding arranged witnesses too. Set up a Facebook private group & added family who got to watch the wedding. We had the best day!

Oh, you're really close to "ever after" in lower grenofen. Would be ideal for what you want! It's like having a "proper" wedding as everything is planned and organised, photographer, flowers, food, etc, but in a miniature form. You just pay the one fee, rock up, get married and then enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We got married here, just wanted a small short ceremony and it was fab they sorted out all the little extras for us, was the most chilled outxunstrewwful, wonderful day.

Meant to say "unstressful"! Also, for what it's worth, we drove from the other side of the country to get married here. It's superb. They specialise in small, intimate and "elopement" marriages.

You could keep it relatively low key . Get married in you local registry office & have afternoon tea at your favourite hotel / venue.
Or a meal and overnight stay for you and your guests .

I don't think I'd be thinking of getting married abroad unless you or your partner are from that country .

I was about to come on here & recommend this because it's where I got married - I live in London - my sister doesn't but also wanted a very small wedding away from home, so she got married there too. It's a lovely place & felt special. For my wedding of about 20 people we hired a routemaster bus to take us all around London for a bit afterwards before going to a pub for a buffet we'd booked

Hi, we are due to get married five weeks yesterday, I am so excited!! We are having a small wedding too, it's been fairly easy to arrange. Register office, lunch in a nice restaurant and then all back to our place. We will decorate the house the day before as friends and family start arriving, and just all have fun. I think these days you can do as you wish, as long as it is legal. All I really want is to look him in the face and promise to love him forever, the rest is just tradition. Congratulations as well x
