Am I too old for a flower crown?

Getting married in Autumn this year, and have ordered a flower crown to wear. Honestly, I fell in love with it and feel like it really matches my wedding dress style and wedding theme.

I excitedly showed my fiancé, and she instantly said “no, you’re not being serious are you? That’s for young brides”. I understand it isn’t her style but it’s made me feel a bit more self conscious about it.

I will be 26 weeks pregnant when we get married, so I can’t have a couple of glasses of fizz to give me more confidence!! I am 35.

Am I going to look ridiculous?? I’ll attach the flower crown I am talking about (it’s from Etsy)

Tis Lovely! But has your harsh fiancé not already ruined it for you?
thoughtless comment about something you obviously had put some thought to.
For all Brides who want to wear it!

OxfordCommas · 02/07/2025 21:06

Would you like a flower crown? Have a flower crown. It’s your day.

myplace · 02/07/2025 21:08

How odd! I’d never think a flower crown was only for young brides!

If I were to think that way, I might- at a stretch- think spring flowers are Maybe young.

Autumn crowns are beautiful. I had the shape, but in a rolled silk headband.

Mmhmmn · 02/07/2025 21:08

Not much one for weddings 😂 but I think that’s lovely.

SayLaveee · 02/07/2025 21:09

I vote no sorry!

DiscoBob · 02/07/2025 21:10

No. That's gorgeous. I was thinking even more OTT than that and it would still be cool. I bet you'll look stunning x

Arlanymor · 02/07/2025 21:11

Flowers don't have an age limit - wear what makes you feel fabulous. I was at an event today with a 98-year-old woman who was wearing fluorescent pink tights and she looked amazing and had more energy than most people there!

You won't look ridiculous in the slightest - I would wear that and I am 46.

Shetlands · 02/07/2025 21:12

No of course you won't look ridiculous - you're only 35!

Wear it and enjoy looking fabulous. 💐

TakeMe2Insanity · 02/07/2025 21:14

Of course your fiance is being unreasonable. AND this is probably why people keep
their outfit a surprise!

TheGrimSmile · 02/07/2025 21:15

That's ridiculous- you're 35! A baby! Of course your not too old. It's lovely.

GoldDuster · 02/07/2025 21:17

Your fiance needs to swallow a diplomacy pill, what a snide dig. You're a 35 year old bride and they're for whoever wants to wear them.

Smartiepants79 · 02/07/2025 21:18

I thought you were going be 55!
Tel your fiancé to keep his unwanted opinions to himself. Who made him the fashion police.
Wear the flowers!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/07/2025 21:19

Christ on a moped of 35 is now “too old” for stuff, there’s no hope for anyone!

It’s lovely. If you love it, wear it.

viques · 02/07/2025 21:20

What is your fiancée wearing? Is she worried it will look a bit strange for photos of you together?

chuggabo · 02/07/2025 21:20

How about a harvest crown for autumn ? Corn ears, blackberries, leaves in a massive variety of colours? Flower crowns are beautiful. Celebrate your season of life, fruitful, fertile and special to where you are in your life story.

Noshadowsinthedark · 02/07/2025 21:21

It Is beautiful OP, go for it!

The fiancée is a she (but I get the lack of the extra 'e' was confusing), plus I think 55 year-olds would still look stunning in this!

Ninkynonkpinkyponks · 02/07/2025 21:21

So pretty I love it

Love this! I want to get married again and wear one! Of course you're not too old, your fiance is prob projecting as they wouldn't wear it.
It's your wedding day, the one day you are allowed to dress as extravagantly as you want!

LancashireButterPie · 03/07/2025 06:54

Funnily enough, my Sis in law said that about me, when I wore one as a bride. I was 26.
Its a stupid argument. Flowers are for everyone, not just children.
Who makes these people the boss of everything.

Lavendersong · 03/07/2025 06:58

Are you 100% certain you want to marry your fiancé? When they make comments like that to you.

Tenofcups · 03/07/2025 07:21

I had one at my ceremony and I was 50. I think they are beautiful whatever age

merrymelody · 03/07/2025 09:11

I wore a flower coronet as a first time bride at the ripe old age of 35. I looked beautiful.

DelphiniumDoreen · 03/07/2025 09:13

35 is not old!

Is she normally this miserable?
