Getting married at a registry office in September. Nothing big, just having our two kids, my mum and his dad. But we want to celebrate with our families afterwards, nothing extreme. Just like a party, private venue with bar and music. Any ideas? I’m round Canterbury area.

What's your budget, how many people and any accessibility requirements such as elderly replies & wheelchairs?

£500-£1000? Not sure on people I’ve not sat and done a count, can’t see it being over 100 though. No sort of requirements like that.

We are in Essex and my husband had a party this year for a milestone birthday. We hired a whole pub. No charge for the venue because calculated they would make money on the drinks. We had roughly 87 people. The pub also did the buffet some hot some cold. Food alone cost approximately £900. My husband hired a DJ for the whole evening £350 and I hired a singer we’ve known for years , she did two 45 minute sets. The singer was a big hit and got everyone up dancing.

Hope this gives you a rough guide to costs
