I literally can’t share my excitement with anyone I know but I need to get it out!!
Earlier this week I accidentally found what I think is an engagement ring. In fact I’m certain. I was looking for something in DPs wardrobe (being honest, the packaging for a gift he recently bought me so I could swap for a different size) and it was right there, not even properly hidden. It’s in the right packaging, from a store we have looked at rings in. I can’t imagine it being anything else - DP and I don’t have loads of ‘spare cash’ so it wouldn’t be a different piece of high end jewellery. And I’m a Pandora fan so if he was buying me jewellery, it’s usually from there. I haven’t looked in the box - I don’t want to. I saw the bag it was in and stopped right there. Bit mortified I found it tbh. But it’s also not completely unexpected - we’ve discussed engagement fairly recently but I thought it was on hold due to finances.
He also wouldn’t have deliberately not hidden it well for me to find - he’s usually extremely secret with gifts he buys me. So there’s no way I’m giving him an inkling I know as I just don’t want to spoil it for him either.
Been together over 6 years. Blended family - happily blended. We are both older - in our 40s. Our exes are also both remarried, so us getting married won’t be a new thing for either of our kids, who are all older too - teens. Will be his second marriage, but my first - in fact my first engagement. I’ve never been married or engaged.
To add to this, we have also been discussing having a short break away, just us, in August. So I am presuming this is where he intends to propose
So far, we have both mentioned a city in Italy we have been before - and it would be my absolute dream to get engaged there. Utterly beautiful.
But I’m absolutely brimming with excitement!!!! 2 months to go!!! I can’t believe it’s finally happening!! And it’s really easy for me to disguise my excitement as just for the trip, since he knows how much I love that city - I’m forever tagging him in reels I see on SM.
But that’s it really - I just needed to offload anywhere!!!!
